Vz Commodore Central Locking - Holden - Whirlpool Forums

My vz commodore has just started to play up with central Locking. I accidentally left keys in it got out and it locked itself once the drivers door was closed. Got locksmith out to open it. And once we got in we took keys out of the ignition and stood on outside car and did it few more times. Still locked itself. We took car home and it has not done it since. Any ideas?? what could be causing it to do it when it feels like it.

Or a full electronic reset.
BCM sometimes goes funny, I had it with my headlights once. When I pulled the fuses, it seem to resolve the issue I had on a VX and VY.

Yep, sounds like a rogue BCM.
Replacement is also an option if resetting doesn't fix. They're not overly expensive in the scheme of things to replace (but you also need budget in new fobs to code to the new BCM).

/Edit... if the switch is working at the moment, you won't know if this is causing it. Even wiggling a faulty switch won't make the light turn off as the interior light it on a timer. You need another indicator to test this, like scan tool live data.

correct, the interior lights are controlled by the BCM, not the switch it's self.
On wifey's VY (mid-BCM, and upgraded model), unlocking the car turns on the headlights, the interior lights, the footwell lights (aftermarket), and deactivates the security. The light on the dash stops blinking.
If the car is not opened in 30 seconds, security is turned on (the VY has BCM inbuilt alarm), the car wont re-lock (that was VZ onwards) but will activate the alarm, if you open the door, the alarm will go off, requiring the key unlock pressed, or the key and fob put into the ignition and turned to on.
The VT and VX dont have this alarm part, but still have the timer to re-arm security.

Must have been an option. My wife's VY S2 doesnt "relock" the doors, just rearms, might check the BCM settings tonight and see if it's a feature in the menu. Might be a BCM High thing, hers is a Med.
