Apart from the 4 No lugs identified on the photograph, what else do I have unfix to remove the central panel? Obviously the wiper arms have to come off and the black plastic grilles. Q2: How do I remove the black plastic grilles? s1.jpg Q3: Can the side sections of the front scuttle panel be removed or are they welded to the shell? s2.jpg Q4: I need to gain access to the recess alongside the front scuttle. Can I just unhook the bonnet opening mechanism spring using pliars to make space? Is there a "best way" of doing this? s3.jpg Thank you in advance. Peter C Xtractorfan

Someone will post on the other bits, as I would only be speculating.. lwbnick

Poke through the plastic clips, and they just lift out, no need to go near the bonnet springs. The scuttle might be stuck down with tar like gunge, so if it puts up resistance, go easy as you don't want to deform it. T

The outer sections : I can't remember sorry The spring is easy to remove: set the bonnet up to completely vertical - this lets the pressure off the spring at the point you arrowed in your picture, you can then get it out through the gap just about. The other end of the spring is just a hook going around a concealed loop - just a wiggle and it'll come out. But beware; once both springs are removed, the bonnet is extremely heavy in any position other than vertical (it will stay up on its own though). ;) OP Peter C1974

All done, thank you for your advice. The scuttle side sections are welded to the shell, cannot be removed. Peter C You must log in or register to reply here.
