Recently bought a 2002 CLK 240 Elegance (W209) and having been inspired by KillerHertz's project, I'd like to slowly add some AMG features to the car. First stage is the grille and I managed to get one off ebay. Wanted to see how it looks but I cannot remove the existing one. There are two connections on either side that I need to wedge out - how do I dislodge the bottom of the grille? Any help would be appreciated Thanks sjmaxwell

Note the if you are converting from a 5 bar grill two a 3 bar you will also need to replace the central bridging piece as it is a different length! OP OP E

It's actually an Avantgarde grille, not the AMG one - my mistake. I have attached two views of the new grille together. Also attached a 'before' pic (my CLK is the one in the foreground with the Cygnus alloys. The black grille doesn't look odd anymore - it's growing on me. Let me know what you think Thanks

We haven't met yet mate? I reckon you need to go for the facelift (2005+) grill myself with only 3 slats: oc1.jpg There's one on eBay at the moment for around £100 Fresher cleaner look IMO OP OP E

Another question - I know it's going to take some time to find the facelift /AMG bumpers and skirts and so I wanted to get a set of alloys in the meantime that give the Elegance a more aggressive look without it looking like mutton dressed as lamb. The Carlsson ones on the attached photo looks good. Any others you recommend? ForumRunner_20130520_232717.jpg KillerHERTZ

One day I'll try and fit some AMG style VIs (I think they are called) Mercedes%20-%20CLK%20Klasse%20W209%20Styling%20-%20Front%20Right%20AMG%2018in%20Styling%205%201%20Piece%20Wheel%20(AMG-01).jpg Last edited: May 20, 2013 jasmart

I've had them refurbished since taking those shots. Last weekends project was to touch up the leather paint that had cracked off of the seats. The paint from volico.de worked brilliantly.
