That’s why they all say “it’s amazing, it’s more fun, i love 5v5, supports are good, single players are more impactful” like they are reading a script. They also put the beta behind drops so they could advertise “1,5 MILLION VIEWERS” when the view count dropped to like 10k after the first 4 hours.It’s just marketing, trying to make the game look bigger in the hope it gets actually big. Overwatch 2 is basically all this. Twitch has a bounty game drop promotion system where a company pays twitch to allocate money for streamers to opt-in for game drops. The streamers earn money based off watch time for that game. Once that pool of money is used up the promotion is over and the streamer is paid. They stopped playing because there is no paid bounty for Overwatch.

I think that is the main reason. I can play and stream OW2 for 6-8 hours if I’d be able to compete there. But now you sit in q for 3-7 mins and play only 1 side w/o switching (qp rule set). And there is no incentive to grind. They’re probably burned out after playing both the alpha and the beta. That’s like a month of playing the same exact thing, and the changes between the alpha and the beta aren’t THAT different.
