What Is The Equation For Photosynthesis?

Anonymous answered The correct equation is- 6CO2 + 12H2O ( in presence of Sunlight and Chlorophyll ) =} C6H12O6 + 6H2O + O6This is because, the oxygen evolved in the process comes from water and not from CO2 as BELIEVED EARLIER.If 6H2O are taken on the reactants side, the oxygen evolved in the products side would involve oxygen of CO2 which is untrue....In the above equation the 6H2O on the products side contains the leftover oxygen of CO2 thus leaving the oxygen atoms of water to be released as 6O2. Hope I was of some Help :)
Anonymous answered The real one is-6CO2 + 12H2O ( in presence of sunlight, chlorophyll and energy obtained from the bonds of ATP and NADPH ( reducing agent ) which provide assimilatory power ) =} C6H12O6 + 6H2O + 6O2The reason for this is that the O2 evolved is the O2 of Water and not of CO2...This invariably means that the water on the RHS of the equation contains oxygen atoms of CO2 and not the one it had on the LHS of the equation....in other words; biochemically the 2 waters on the LHS and RHS are different in the source of Oxygen.For more reasons and to satisfy your thirst on this wonderful equation; GOOGLE it!! Hope I was of some Help :)
Anonymous answered 6 CO2 + 12 H2O(l) + energy → 6C6H12O6 + 6 O2(g) + 6 H2O
Anonymous answered 6CO2+6H2O---->C6H12O6+6O2
Anonymous answered 6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2 and respiration is the exact opposite
Vincent Davis answered 6CO2 + 6H2O ------> C6H12O6 + 6O2The above is the balanced equation for photosynthesis which is how plants such as flowers breathe. Please notice the one of the products of the reaction is oxygen. As far as your question of how to balance this equation is concerned this is basic chemistry,
in order for a chemical equation to be balanced you have to have the same no. Of molecules each substance one the reactants side as there are on the products side.
Anonymous answered The word equation is Carbon Dioxide + Light Energy ------> Glucose + Oxygen (I'm in 8th grade). I'm not too sure about the chemical equation or about its exact balance but we just started the photosynthesis unit, so the only equation we got was the one I stated above.Sorry if it doesn't help!
Anonymous answered Chlorophylllight+energy+carbon dioxide ------> Glucose+Oxygen Chloroplasts light energy + 6 H2O + 6 CO2 ------> C6 H12 O6 + 6 O2
Anonymous answered The equation for photosynthesis is 6 CO2(g) + 12 H2O(l) + photon → C6H12O6 + 6 O2(g) + 6 H2O(l)The reactants are water, carbon dioxide and sunlight. The products are glucose, oxygen and water. Sunlight provides energy to the process and chloroplast and chlorophyll are the organelles involved in it. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) provides energy to the process. photosynthesis:

6 CO2+12 H2O+(In the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll )=C6H12O6+6 O2
Anonymous answered Carbon Dioxide(CO2) + Water(H2O) in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll = glucose and oxygen? Thats the word equation anyways
Anonymous answered Six carbons+ twelve waters+solar energy+ (this is kinda confusing) C six H twelve O six+ 6 O two+ 6 H two OO= oxygenC= carbon dioxideH=water
Anonymous answered 6CO2 + 6H2O + Energy C6H12O6 + 6O2faculty.clintoncc.suny.edu this is the site I found it at, not sure where the others got their answer, but that is what I found.
Anonymous answered Photosynthesis is a process in which light energy is converted in to chemical energy. This process is feature of plants, some bacteria and some parasites. In this process plants, some bacteria and some parasites use sunlight energy to produce sugar under the influence of a pigment called chlorophyll. Carbon dioxide and water are initial substrate while oxygen and glucose are end products. Although, equation of photosynthesis is complex but most simplified form of this equation is 6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2
