This ViewSonic XG2405 24 Inch has two version of what I assume to be 1080p. There's one for 229 which in the name of the product says 1080p, then next to it there's another option for a 1080p version of the same model for 269. I'm not sure why that is, any ideas?

The only difference I seen is that the 269 one comes with cables, the 229 might but I didn't see it on the page. I'd go with the cheaper one, if you need cables you can buy separately for less than 40 buck difference. I can't find any difference with them but it also could be different sellers.

The $269.99 one is the 2402 model, came out in 2017.  It's a TN panel.  If this is to be believed...

What's the stuff under pivot mean? the 90/90?

Also does anyone maybe know a more frugal replacement for that particular monitor? I can probably get one, but I need 2.

I believe it is revering to rotating the display for viewing in landscape or portrait.

Looks like 2405 stand could rotate both directions vs the 2402 stand can only rotate one direction.  Not to be confused with Swivel lol.

So it only rotates to the left or right, not both?

Rotate as in Portrait or landscape it only goes to the right. It honestly it doesn't matter the only limitation is you can't choose what side you want you larger bottom bezel to be on in portrait mode, and hardly anyone ever rotates their monitors in portrait anyways. I am the only person I know that does that but the is only because I have 3 other  monitors in landscape.

And it isn't like you can't just get a new mount. I never use the stand the monitors come I get a monitor mount and clamp it to my desk, that saves you so much desk space. Even the cheap $30 mounts can rotate any direction swivel around. etc...
