Stranger Things season 4 has been running up that hill since it landed on Netflix earlier this year, becoming the biggest-ever premiere weekend for an English-language series.

The latest chapter came to a dramatic end, with the epic two-and-a-half-hour finale seeing the Hawkins gang fight one last battle against Vecna.

Along the way, there was plenty of action, many emotional moments, and some heartbreaking losses and, naturally, fans are already clamouring for the show’s fifth and final season – work on which is officially underway.

Stranger Things season 4 part 2 was released on Friday 1st July 2022 at 8am in the UK.

It comes just over a month from the release of the first part of the season.

Season 4 was pushed back from an original 2021 release in the wake of COVID-19, as David Harbour (Hopper) revealed during an Instagram Q&A, but with the full season in the can we can safely assume that the two final season 4 episodes will arrive on schedule.

While part 1 is made up of seven episodes, part 2 only features two episodes.

The runtimes are pretty epic, though, so fans needn't worry about missing out on action.

Episode 8 – 1 hour 25 minutes

Episode 9 – 2 hour 19 minutes

What are the Stranger Things season 4 volume 2 episode titles?

Episode 8 is titled Papa, which seems to be hinting at Eleven’s backstory.

Meanwhile, episode 9 is more mysteriously titled The Piggyback. We'll have to wait for more information on this one.

How many episodes are in Stranger Things season 4 part 2?

There are only two episodes in Stranger Things season 4 part 2, after the first seven aired in part 1.

However, fans don't need to fret too much that they won't be getting enough of their Stranger Things fix - both episodes are feature-length, with episode seven clocking in at 1 hour and 25 minutes and episode nine lasting a whopping 2 hours and 19 minutes.

The latter will be far and away the longest episode of the show ever produced, with it coming in longer than some cinema releases.

Netflix released a trailer for the second part of Stranger Things 4 on Thursday 9th June 2022.

The footage teases a further confrontation between Vecna and Eleven in the final two episodes.

Additionally, it seems the teens in Hawkins are in some serious danger once again with Lucas Sinclair and Max Mayfield appearing in peril.

Finally, Jim Hopper looks set to spring back into action in the instalments. Will he be reunited with Eleven?

Will there be a season 5 of Stranger Things?

Yes, Stranger Things season 5 has already been confirmed.

The series has already been confirmed to return for a fifth and final season, which will wrap up the central story the show's been telling since 2016 (before any heavily-alluded-to spin-off series emerge).

In fact, the show's creators The Duffer Brothers recently told SFX that they already "know what the ending is".

Matt Duffer said: "It's conceivable that it changes but I think it's unlikely because it's one of those endings that just feels, and has always felt, right."

Fans can also look forward to a very "different" spin-off to the popular series that'll apparently take us all by surprise.

There's a version of it developing in parallel [to season 5], but they would never shoot it parallel," Ross Duffer told Variety.

"The reason we haven't done anything is just because you don't want to be doing it for the wrong reasons, and it was just like, 'Is this something I would want to make regardless of it being related to Stranger Things or not?'" Matt Duffer added.

"And definitely. Even if we took the Stranger Things title off of it, I'm so, so excited about it. It's going to be different than what anyone is expecting, including Netflix."
