Just wondering where you have found the car data sticker in / on your car?
t used to be in the boot but it's not in my car.
Has anyone here found there's in a different position?
Looking for where it actually is in your car not where you think it is or where you think it should be. ðŸ˜

So i finally found it today. Woo Hoo! Its underneath the plastic trim in the boots where the lock catch is!

I have never found it either in the R or previous GTIPP and I have looked everywhere. The GTIPP didn't even have it in the service record! No doubt it's something else now only kept on line.

I've only got a data sticker in front of the Service Book. There's no sticker in the car that I've found and it's definitely not in the normal long cation in boot like it used to be in previous marks.

This is what I was hoping was going happen in the mk7 ...
a guy at my local dealer thought it could be under the plastic trim where the boot catch plate is, not sure i want to take the panel off to take a look though ...

Hi I am missing my data sticker from handbook and can’t see one in boot golf gti tcr Nov 219 can any body help to get copy for me or hotpots of a tcr one so I can wire it in the handbook many thanks mal

I think they may have stopped putting them in the car after a certain year, our painters have struggled to find a data sticker in some of the later cars (mainly Audi’s) to get the paint code and have ended up ringing the dealer for it.
Although this just could be the painters being lazy and not looking properly or maybe being a bit dim 🤷♂️😂.

The car data sticker in the mk7 Golf in this YouTube video is under the plastic trim piece that covers the sill area inside the hatch opening - data sticker is to the right of the latch on the tailgate sill.
You can see it at 37sec and again at 1min in the video
