Would A 3090 Fit In A Nzxt H1? - Cases And Mods - Linus Tech Tips

i remember seeing a video of an ASUS RTX 2080ti barely fitting in NZXT H1, but would it also still fit in a 3090?

and will its 650w Powersupply be enough?

Simply put, no... Sorry. The new cards are quite a bit bigger than the 20 series cards

Nzxt h1 can only fit 2 slot gpu, not 3 slot like the 3090

the smallest case with 3 available PCIe slots is not so small. If you were considering a small form factor case and a 3090 build, it's not so easy to pull off.

The best solution is don’t put it in a small case. Nvidia is practically admitting that this is both power hungry, hot, and large, the big 3 of it will literally melt inside a sff build.

Pretty much not gonna happen. Everyone does 2 slot gpu's 3slot is a massive exception.

The NZXT H1 and similar size cases have become quite popular. I'm sure there will be a 30 series version that is a small form factor. Possibly the 3060 so I would not give up hope just yet.

What about the Lian Li 011 Mini that is coming out soon? I don't know if they have released the full specs yet, but this article says it "Depending on the form factor of the motherboard installed, the O11D Mini can house up to three 280 mm radiators with a mini-ITX motherboard installed, a 280 mm and 240 mm radiator with a micro-ATX motherboard, and two 240 mm radiators with an ATX sized board." I haven't looked into the specs of the 3090 though, all I know is its big, and as you say 3 slots, this appears to have 3 slot clearance. H1 doesn't have nearly the cooling capacity to use a 3090 properly.

Plus it doesn't fit.

O11 Mini seems solid it'll be quite a while till you can buy it though

Lots of misinformation here.

3080 and 3090 absolutely fit in the H1 however not all brands.  The 3080 can definitely be cooled but may require case/fan mods to do so properly and works without issue from the 650w PS.  The 3090 doesn't have enough information currently from reviewers to say if the 650w PS is enough, or if it can be cooled effectively.

There are some 3090´s which will fit in the H1. I´ve ordered an ASUS TUF Gaming, because I´ve seen some builds with this card.

Actually I have a 2080 ti in my H1 and the temps are very good so far. I work as a 3d motion designer and my 2080 ti is about 68°C while rendering with Redshift at 100% load (for hours).

So I think, there´s a good chance that the 3090 will not toast itself in the H1. Maybe some undervolting and a perforated front panel (Ghost Sheets), will improve the termals a littlebit more.
