Cuz, my HP laptop the key at the bottom right hand corner became loose. Second time liao. First time was last year. That time still have warranty. But now, no more warranty liao. When have warranty, send to HP service centre repair is free one. But now without warranty, I know need to pay money, but I don't know how much. Those who know, or is work at HP service centre one, can advise me on the pricing? Cuz if the pricing is like $100 or above, I might as well buy new laptop. Thanks. destiny88

That time I bought the laptop from Harvey Norman, I remember I got check the details and realized that it was registered in September 2019. The laptop name is "HP Notebook - 14s-dk0080au". Although I do not know the exact age, I guess the laptop age is around 2 years old. Therefore, since the age is less than 5 years, I will send the laptop for repair. Thanks for your concern. :) yusoffb01

The Acer laptop worked well throughout, partly because Poly workload not that large... Yeah, my HP laptop is having a heavier usage, that's why more prone to wear and tear. Nothing to do with the brand. I believe if the Acer laptop had the same workload as I am having now (writing approximately 2,000 words of report almost once every week), it will encounter the same problem. I understand, maybe is because some people waiting, and wondering why nobody sent their HP laptop for servicing, that's why ask here. Well, I had reports to submit. Just submitted my last one on Monday. But whether I want to send, and when, is my own freedom. Thanks for the concern. :) Ignatius J

My younger sister that bought another model fared slightly better, 2x in 1.5 years. Both were HP Pavilion laptops if I did not recall wrongly. But it seems like you are going through around the same. Usually when laptops are out of warranty, official repair channel is going to charge you an crazy amount of money. Unofficial ones, it depends on the problem, and do note they may be using refurbished/ salvaged parts to replace. So if it fails again outside the warranty period they provide, then you are back to square one. eeLsinneD

Was doing an extensive research this year to get myself a laptop. Found out for every brands, laptops now, like smartphones, have series that determine the quality (e.g. Lenovo's Thinkpad/Ideapad, Dell's XPS/Inspiron/Latitude, HP's Envy/Pavilion etc) My Dell Inspiron, sadly, is classified under mid range :( If your warranty is expired, better go for repairs from SIm Lim, as their official corporate charges for servicing charge is steeper. As long as your model is not super old, should be able to find the parts eeLsinneD
