Already have the Fuji xe2s and really like it but thinking about the xe3. Any reasons to switch, besides the "obvious " ones? Thanks rokphish

If not press for time, why not wait for the X-E4 first quarter of next year supposedly? If you don't like the X-E4, it's still beneficial as in the prices for the X-E3 most likely even lower then. BloodNGuts

I and a few others disliked the XE3 EVF, so test first. Many prefer the one on the XE3. It was a deal breaker for me. The main advantage for me was Acros. But I would agree with the above and wait for the XE4. If it has a bigger EVF and flip screen and Classic Negative then it will be awesome. But I would also like the XE3's extra pixels for cropping with my fisheye. The XE3 was a compromise for a couple of other little things too, like poor joystick instead of D pad imho, no flash, slightly worse grip. I just found it more fiddly and seemed to spend longer in menus than just enjoying simple shooting with the XE2. Some others said build quality may have been a bit worse too, I can't remember. For now I am quite happy getting Classic Negative and Acros via Capture One for XE2. Will be interesting to compare when the XE4 comes out as I have a feeling the lower 16MP sensor might be making softer, more pleasing filmic images. The XT3 was super contrasty and I haven't compared but am guessing that might not be as pleasing always. Other times it is amazing to have that extra quality 26MP sensor, so am excited for the XE4. I thought the XT3 was a big jump up from the XE3- amazing features (like HDR video, JPG options, autofocus speed was a bigger jump imo) and awesone EVF (but my nose is big so I took too many photos in portrait). Whereas XE2 to XE3 was great for Acros but never really a satisfying upgrade overall. Woodworth

I've had all of the X-E cameras over the years and in my experience the X-E3 is the best of them all, particularly in terms of it's sensor and AF capabilities, however as Rokphish said, why not wait for the X-E4? If the X-E4 has some very desirable features you'll be kicking yourself if you have already got the X-E3 by then. That said, if budget is critical, the X-E3 will be that bit cheaper whe everyone wants the latest toy! Robmas4229

One of the things that frustrated me with the XE2s was that there were not separate view modes for shooting and playback, it annoyed the he (double hockey sticks here) out of me. The XE3 sorted that out for me and gave me more pixels when I needed to crop. I like the minimalist design of the XE3 but would like the tilt screen from the X100V and a larger EVF. WR would be nice but I don't expect it at the intermediate level. Some also complained that it was smaller, I just added the Fuji leather half case and it's just fine for me. The Xe3 is a great pairing with the newer smaller primes or the 18-55. But if I had the XE2s right now I'd wait to see what the XE4 may offer, or not (since I have little patience). J

I have the XE2S and think it is a great little camera with little to complain about. If I could add one feature the XE3 has, it would be the ' Focus stick' to the focusing point. My XT2 has the focus stick and I really like using it. The XE3 has other changes but that is the one item I really wish the XE2S had. L

I'll give your X-E2S the 'Focus stick' in exchange for a 180 degree 'tilt-screen' for mine. BloodNGuts

Just been looking at Panasonic’s GX8 and it’s EVF can be tilted up. Might be a decent alternative to a tilting screen for the XE4. I would prefer the screen so I could go lower, but a tilting EVF might be cool for candids you are a bit shy to take with a normal EVF. Would be unique too, so Fuji wouldn’t risk harming sales of the X Pro 3 or X100V. Probably won’t happen but might be a slim chance. Will read up on what people think about such an EVF as it seems like more of a gimmick on first thought. But they repeated it with their GX9, so must be somewhat useful. L

I find the tilt screens on my Sony(s) to be invaluable. And that is why they're my 1st choice for street photography. BloodNGuts

Yeah, it's time they were standard. I am going to try an XM1 as there is an all black one in great condition close by for $100. Might just save me 800 or so (on an XE4 or getting a used Sony or GX8) and there are no guarantees the XE4 will have a flip screen, or the ideal type. I like how much smaller it is than the XE2 too. Will use it for looking down with wide lenses. If the EXIF C1 hack works with it then that will be an extra bonus to get all the film sims. I assume it will work. This (X-M1) will probably be an excellent selection for your stated purposes ~ especially at that price. It's nearly identical to my X-A1, except for the sensor. I've put the X-A1 in the hands of my Partner as she has great visual difficulty with viewfinders of any stripe, and I have difficulty with display screens of any type ~ and...it's a bit small for my hands ~ if I'm going to carry a camera that is smaller than my X-E2, it might as well be the RX100** (my EDC for many years). I'll start observing her use of that camera (X-A1) a bit more; perhaps she's not aware of the usefulness of the tilt screen at waist level. Thanks for posting this!
