I've tested and this is true - there's something that's preventing Xiao Ai Tong Xue from responding (probably China VPN settings on their server side) if your app and speaker setting is fixed in the China region. What I did that worked was - I changed my region setting to Taiwan, and factory reset my speaker, before reconnecting. This restored the Xiao Ai functionality, although the firmware dropped 2 versions - from 1.56.12 to 1.54.11 (so probably whatever sound enhancements, etc) are gone. Nonetheless, I would prefer a smart speaker that responds to my commands like adjusting the volume when i'm in bed. Will monitor going forward and occasionally switch back to China region to see if the VPN issue is fixed. A

The download is automatically done via the Xiao Ai Yin Xiang app - changing the region is also done via the app. Yes, my speaker is still working and responding to my voice commands. A

Can you please teaching me to step by step how to downgrade and setup with xiao ai speaker? She can't answer anything and disconnecting always, can't command with my others Xiaomi products also. Thanks! X

You should have the xiaoai APP, change the region from CN to TW, after that, you need to factory reset the AI speaker and register an acc with KKBOX, then ur AI speaker firmware back to 1.54.11. Next, change the region back to CN, repeat the step above. AI speaker should be able to answer ur Q. However, the APP will auto update the AI speaker firmware, end up i also stuck in this situation, all my aqara switch cant control via AI speaker. Do anyone has better idea to handle this issue? A

It was fine, except at times it does have some connectivity issues. Today, I bought Xiaomi Fan 1C and try to link both. Problems at first. But I finally figured out and both are working now. Here's my solution how I linked both sets: For 小爱同学 music box - the original app 小爱音响，you can ignore it. You cannot use 小爱音响 while connecting to other Xiaomi devices, it can't work. Moreover, that app only link to China & Taiwan. So I downloaded Mi Home. Then after all your personal settings linking to your SG mobile, email, facebook etc - Change the regional settings to Chinese Mainland. This is the most important, without changing the regional settings, the 小爱同学 music box will not play any music. After changing the regional settings to Chinese Mainland, reboot your mobile. You will see there will be extra features and language will be both in English and Chinese (International + China versions). Then proceed to add your music box and other xiaomi devices. I had two mobiles, one iphone 6+ and there other Xiaomi Red Note. I found that using iphone connects easily than Xiaomi phone. Now my 小爱同学 music box can play many songs from the internet and still controls on/off of my fan too. C

Hi, recently i bought a xiaomi ai Pro. Have tried your method but the xiaomi speaker can't connect to wifi.. Can advise? Thanks J
