Kevin Sweeney scored 162 in his IQ test. He was invited to join Mensa, the high IQ society. The 11-year-old took the test in Edinburgh at the Quaker Meeting House on July 16. His proud father said that the result was no surprise to them as Sweeney had always depicted the aptitude of a genius.

One 11-year-old from Britain has managed to beat the biggest minds that ever lived in the world. Kevin Sweeney was invited to join Mensa, the prestigious high IQ society, after he secured an IQ score higher than Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.

His score of 162 has placed him among the top 1 percent in the world. Physicist Hawking's IQ score was 160 and Einstein, who never took a test, was also deemed to have the same level of IQ.

Sweeney's IQ test took place in Edinburgh at the Quaker Meeting House on July 16. He was the only child who took the test that day. Speaking of Sweeney's experience at the test centre, his father Eddie stated, "He got the maximum score for someone his age. There were no other children at the test it was all adults. We thought he might get overwhelmed being with all adults, but he was just chatting away to everyone saying ‘hi, I'm Kevin’”.

The proud father said that he hopes that the test score would boost his child's confidence. "We hope this is a great boost for him. Life has its challenges for Kevin, and we really want to help maximise his potential and give him every opportunity in life," said Eddie.

Recalling Sweeney's reaction to the test result, the father said, "Kevin was running round the garden when he got the results. It meant a lot more to him than we imagined it would.”

Meanwhile, Eddie claimed that they were not taken aback by the test results. They stated he memorised the periodic table at the age of six and started reading way before starting primary school.
