Is a 2.3 GPA Good?
A 2.3 is well under the national average of a 3.0 GPA. While salvageable, it’s still considered low. You may be able to pull it up, but it will take a lot of effort.
For high school students
Colleges and universities will likely not take an application with a 2.3 GPA. It’s simply not high enough, even if you have impressive extracurriculars.
For college students
You are so close to the minimum 2.5 GPA that most graduate programs require for application. Still, you are unlikely to beat out other applicants unless you raise your GPA over at least a 3.0.
How Can I Raise My GPA?
There are many ways to raise your GPA, but they all take time and commitment. You’ll need to focus on your studies and perhaps neglect other activities for a while.
Set a time each day where you can study and review the material from class.
Let your instructor know about your situation, and express your commitment to learning the material.
Be alert and attentive in class, asking questions and clearing up any confusion you may have about the concepts at hand.
