Answer:

There are a few colleges and universities that accept students with 2.3 GPA. Andrew College, Georgia Highlands College, and Paine College have a 2.0 GPA base requirement. Albany State University, Savannah State University, and Fort Valley State University accept applicants with a GPA between 2.0 and 2.25 provided they have 480 in writing and 440 in math for their SAT scores or their ACT reading and math scores are 17.

Albany State, in particular, admits high school students even if they don't meet the SAT or ACT requirements. However, they have to enroll in their access to pathway program first. This program enables students to take basic courses with a support network so they can work on building their learning habits and prepare them for college life.

Outside of these options, there may be ways of improving your chances of getting accepted even with a GPA of 2.3. Students often enroll into community college and transfer to a four-year college after taking a few classes or getting their associate degree. Having outstanding SAT or ACT scores could tip the balance of being accepted in your favor. If there is an explanation for your GPA (issues at home, a debilitating illness, and sudden changes in life), some colleges might be flexible with their requirements. If you have a teacher or counselor at school that you have a good relationship with, you could ask them to give you letter of recommendation. Finally, if you are still in school or just graduated, you could opt to take another year of classes to improve your grades.
