Though lately I've come to, finding many problems with it.I AM GOING TO ATTEMPT TO MAKE THIS AS CONSTRUCTIVE AS POSSIBLEThis game, is certainly beautiful and no one can deny that. Amazing graphics, some of the best looking dinosaurs out there. But that's as far as the game succeeds. The game has been out for about 3 years now and is about the same game it was on release as far as game play goes. Focusing on graphics isn't exactly a bad thing, but if you come into this game during EA expecting more than that than you will be in for a long wait. Stick with this review till the end please.I'm going to get into the negatives now, and I have a lot to say. The game feels polished with what it currently has, but it is very time consuming and there's not exactly a lot to do other than survive. Once you reach adult that's pretty much it, eat, drink, and breed and inevitably die. I suppose if that's what you're looking for then by all means get this game! It's perfect as a simulator in it's current state. The problem lies in all that is planned for the game but not seeing it implemented, they've been too busy remodeling dinosaurs and updating graphics. Again, not a bad thing. But from where I stand it seems unnecessary. Do some research on isle models and you will see MANY models that are not in the game and have since gotten scrapped. As far as most of us are aware at least, from the way things are looking, and I could be wrong or things will change again. When you consider the cost for a high quality model, that is a lot of wasted money. Only for the ones we have to be remade again. To be fair, some of them were done by a different modeler than what they have now. But there was nothing technically wrong with what they had. Another issue lies with all the work being put into hypos and strains. The fictional dinosaurs that no one will ever be able to play as. The end game dinosaurs that may not be put in till much later, dinosaurs that will be very very rare. Instead of working on stuff like humans, game play mechanics, etc that will effect the main game play. It just, doesn't make sense to me.Gameplay aside, I want to talk about the community. I will not deny or ignore the fact there are a lot of talented and awesome people in the community. I have a lot of respect for some of these people. But I must warn people coming into this game that you must tread lightly. The devs and community are serious. I have seen a lot of aggressive behavior in my time on the official discord. Name calling, flaming, etc. Some of which done by the devs themselves.Namely the lead developer. Now, I'm trying to put this the best way I can. I'm not trying to spread hate, but I want people to know what they're getting in to. I recognize the lead dev has done a lot of good things. But even he knows he has acted in a less than friendly manner. I'm sure a few select people in the discord may take this review and laugh at it in the official discord but do with it how you will because I cannot be afraid to speak up.I had made a mod with some colorful skins and glowing dinosaurs back when mods were usable. It did well but for the majority of the active users on the discord it got bashed and hated on very frequently. Some of the most rude and hateful behavior I have ever seen. In an attempt to defend my creation, instead of any helpful feedback I got swamped by people making fun of me and calling me names. I was bullied indeed. After contacting one of the moderators myself and one of the staff of our own discord were told that 'if our skins were better than maybe we wouldn't get so much shade'.That is a very unprofessional response. I knew they were there watching, they started to type and said something very briefly about stopping but didn't enforce it, it continued. It doesn't matter if skins are bad, it gives no excuse to treat someone like garbage.I've been called a cum stain by one of their honorable guests for giving my own input on a discussion, I was simply trying to assert something that I believed was true but I was not being aggressive about it. Then out of no where this person comes in to name call me. The point of bringing that up is this person has said stuff like this to people numerous times and after watching them in chat and seeing past chats this is just, how they act. Very inappropriate and rude. Yet they are, an honorable guest. On to another matter however. Is the devs, mostly the lead dev. I think many can agree that he is not the nicest. He's made it clear he's not here to be your friend, he is here to make his game. Sure it's his game and he is of course, entitled to do what he wants with it. But it puts up a big barrier with his audience, he doesn't care if we like it or not. He will make fun of people who don't like it, he will call people stupid in front of everyone, he will use aggressive language. I have seen it myself. He is very crude. But I would rather not get into it too much. I still hope that this will be taken as feedback and as something to be improved upon. This leaves me into my next thing, I had commissioned their official modeler to do a creature for a mod, for this game. I paid exactly, $1,000 for this creature. It had gotten as far as a base model, that looked amazing, only to find out that the lead developer, and I quote, "a general distaste", for the creature and believe "it may harm the brand". But a further explanation was not given. This was the most disheartening thing that I have had to deal with in this community. There is by no reason commissioning their modeler to make a creature for a mod, for HIS game, and ensuring it's quality by doing so, that it would harm the game. It shouldn't be his decision to decide what their modeler does in their free time. This is why I believe his "distaste" is the only reason he didn't want it to be made. Unless I was given a better reason I can see no other. I certainly see nothing reasonable. This just goes to show how unsupportive he his of his community. He has made it clear he hates mods. Makes me wonder why there was ever a dev kit when most of the people seem to hate whatever is put out. There's good and bad, but it is important to not create some 'elite' community and instead be sure to provide an instructive community that will give people new to modding a chance.I hope this game improves, it has so much potential. I cannot give this game a recommendation.I will however still make mods for the game, because I care about the people who support Primordial Tyrants and want to see our content in the game. But that's as far as I will go to support the game itself. But something had to be said, I cannot be afraid to speak up. Someone has to.___________________________________________UPDATE:PLEASE NEVER TAKE ANYTHING DONDI SAYS AT FACE VALUEI've done some careful digging and noticed Dondi selectively choosing what information to give out. Straight up manipulative in many ways. Will bash other dinosaur related games (except Saurian) actively. Most of what you hear in the isle discord will be false when it comes to hating on things. I've had this happen myself when my server was accused of "worshiping" Anthomnia and having hypos on our server. Both are false, the later very false. When it came to Anthomnia I respected him as a content creator and the publicity he offered, willingly even, for our server. So we gave him certain privileges to make videos about us.Just please be careful with what you hear from Dondi, he is not the blunt truth kind of guy I once thought he was.Skin css and layout by DrTrueBlueJS © 2018 - 2025 KelskoraComments93anonymous's avatarJoin the community to add your comment. Finally I found someone who agrees with me. I really can't stand Dondi and all of the toxic players who worship him. I love the game, but I hate the community. I mean, there's obviously exceptions. But in 400 hours of playing I have only met 1 player I wanted to play with a second time. No rule servers are full of r*pe jokes and transphobia/homophobia. Don't get me wrong, I think a lot of the developers are extremely talented and hard working and probably very nice people. I felt really bad for them with the whole recode thing when Dondi casually said it would be done on Valentine's Day and then when it turned out it wasn't true Anthomnia rose to his defense saying it wasn't an official statement. Now half the community has lost their faith in the game. I can only imagine the hardworking developers of this amazing game must be extremely stressed out by this little 'slip up'. I'm excited for the recode and I love the game and will continue to play it, but I really don't like Dondi and a large majority of the community.
