When sending a meeting invitation you cannot add someone as a CC or a BCC to the meeting invite. Use the following instructions that detail how to define optional attendees in the meeting invitation.

Adding an optional attendee using Outlook Exchange Online

Having logged into Exchange online (webmail.bcit.ca):

  1. Click on the Calendar icon in the left rail. blue calendar icon second in the list of icons.
  2. In the Outlook calendar click the New Event button.
  3. In the new meeting window that opens, click Scheduling Assistant.mouse cursor over the scheduling Assistant tab at the top
  4. In the Add optional attendee field, type in the name of an optional person you wish to add to the meeting.

Adding an optional attendee to a meeting using the Outlook application

In your Outlook calendar:

  1. Click on the New Meeting icon in the ribbon.
  2. In the new meeting windows that opens, Click on the Scheduling Assistant tab.mouse cursor over the scheduling Assistant tab at the top
  3. Click in the Add optional attendee field and type the person’s name.
