How Refunds Are Issued

Once you have returned your item, a refund will be issued after we receive the item, or after the seller notifies us of receipt of return (in case of items sold and fulfilled by a third-party seller). Most refunds are issued based on the payment method used at the time of purchase or as an Amazon.sg gift card. You can choose to refund to original payment method or Gift Cards.

The following are the refund timelines associated with each payment method.

* If the original card has been lost, stolen or expired, the customer will be able to select a Gift Card refund online or customer would have to work with their bank.

** Refunds will be reflected in your Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) account as soon as they are processed by Amazon. Your payment plan will be rebalanced on your chosen third-party BNPL account or you will be refunded according to your chosen third-party BNPL provider’s refund policy.

If you haven’t received your refund within the time frames mentioned here, we would suggest contacting your bank with ARN (Acquire Reference Number) displayed in Your Transactions page.

Note:

  • After the carrier has received your item, it can take up to 5-7 days for us to receive and process your return.
  • Refunds to Amazon.sg Gift Card balance will be in Singapore Dollars even for AmazonGlobal orders. Amazon.sg Gift Card balance is denominated in Singapore Dollars and must not exceed S$1,000 at any time. The maximum Gift Card balance that a customer can use in successive periods of one year (following the date of commencement of the balance) is S$30,000. Customers should select an alternate refund option if refunding to the Amazon.sg Gift Card balance would cause their gift card balance to exceed this limit.
  • Instalment Payment Plan (IPP) and Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) are not available as payment or refund methods for Amazon.sg Fresh & Fast orders.
  • PayNow, BNPL and IPP are not available as a payment or refund method for AmazonGlobal orders.
  • Refunds for orders placed more than two months ago and paid via PayNow cannot be processed through PayNow, the original payment method. In such cases, an Amazon.sg Gift Card for the refund amount will be issued instead.

Refunds or Gift Returns: If you're a gift recipient and have returned your gift in line with our Gift Returns process, Amazon will process your refund as an Amazon.sg Gift Card. The Amazon.sg Gift Card will be added directly to the Amazon.sg account you used to initiate your return so that you can easily track the remaining balance on the Amazon.sg Gift Card. The Amazon.sg Gift Card will be added to your Amazon.sg account after we receive your return, as per the Amazon.sg Gift Card refund timelines mentioned in the table above.

Partial Refunds or Restocking Fees

If the returned product is not in the original condition, or returned after the return window, you will be partially charged for the product price based on the following applicable policy:

Track Your Refund

To check the status of your refund:

Go to Your Returns.

Click View Return/Refund status next to the order.

Shipping Cost Refunds

For Amazon-fulfilled orders shipped within Singapore, if you return your item using a pre-paid label and the reason for return is not the result of an Amazon error or a faulty item, a return shipping fee of S$7 will be deducted from your refund amount. If the total value of the item(s) you have returned using a single pre-paid label is less than S$7, there will be no refund credited to your original payment method for that return.

Note: If you return an item using a pre-paid label, and the item is eligible for Free Returns, no return shipping fee will be deducted from your refund irrespective of the reason for return.

If you ship the item to us on your own and the reason for return is the result of an Amazon error or, if we have agreed to bear the return shipping costs (for example, in case of Free Returns), your refund will include up to S$5 in return shipping fees.

If you wish to claim above the amount refunded for return shipping, you will need to Contact Us and provide evidence to us to substantiate the reasonable costs incurred.
