We Make It: Custom Artwork
PYOP - How it Works
Paint Your Own Pottery (PYOP) is a creative experience for anyone – regardless of artistic ability. When visiting our studio, these are the steps to getting started:
-

Pick a Piece
Select your ceramic(s) from our wide range of ever evolving stock. Each item is priced on the bottom and includes paint, glaze and firing. At any given time of the year, we have over 200 unique items from which to select. Fun fact: at Christmastime, that number nearly doubles!
-

Visit the Paint Bar
Visit our paint bar to add your colors to your paint pallet. Grab a water cup to rinse your brush. There will be a clean set of brushes waiting for you at your table. Revisit the paint bar as many times as needed to complete your project.
-

Off to the Kiln Room
Once your piece is painted, we let it dry completely through. Next, your pieces get placed in our kiln room. We will dip your creation in an overglaze that is made of crushed glass. This is what gives your piece a shiny finish, while also ensuring that it will be food, microwave, dishwasher safe. After overglazing - your ceramic(s) go in the kiln for a 24 hour cycle of firing and cool down.
-

Pick Up Your Artwork!
On or after your pick-up date, bring in your yellow claim ticket (given at checkout) any time during business hours so our staff can get you your finished piece. We'll hold your pieces for 45 days after your pick-up date. Now marvel at your masterpiece!

Locally Roasted Coffee
We proudly offer Central Ohio's own Crimson Cup, as our exclusive custom roaster.
-

Traditional European Barista Menu
It all starts with the bean. And we proudly serve the freshest custom roasted beans from Central Ohio's own Crimson Cup. Our traditional European inspired menu is espresso focused. What does that mean? For example, a true Italian Macchiato is a 4oz of rich espresso, topped with a dollop of steamed foam. The Westernized version of a Macchiato is milk forward - in a 16oz cup there's about 12oz of steamed milk and 4oz of espresso. Syrup is typically added as well. A glance at our staff artist's rendering of our drink ratios, are a great aide in helping you make your decision of what to order!

Our Creative Impact
Kind words from sweet customers. Taken from Google Reviews.

Made a random discovery while exploring Lancaster. This place is adorable. Can't wait to come back and make some art! (You paint it and they glaze and fire it for you.) Lots of cute examples and art for sale too. Great coffee and yummy cookies! And sweet staff.

A very beautiful shop that has such a nice and fun atmosphere to hang out! A perfect place to take your friends/family and do some painting. Will definitely be planning some more visits. The coffee is also a plus and worth getting while you’re there!

A fantastic coffee shop and even better pottery one! This place makes art easy with a great cup of coffee. You simply pick your coffee, pick a clay pice and have fun. They put your clay piece you picked into the kiln for you. Then come back at a later time and pick it up. Tones of selection. The inside of the shop is beautiful, with very high ceilings and archways dividing both little shops. With this beautiful layout, it makes for a fantastic time.

We stopped twice this week and loved it! The coffee was delicious! The second time we also painted and everything was very user friendly and easily explained but staff was happy to help or answer questions if needed! As an autistic adult with an autistic daughter, I Love that it's also helping support a great mission.

A Gem in Lancaster! I love their social impact model and it is a perfect place to have a birthday party or to get together with friends. Their coffee shop is really good too! The staff is all so friendly and the atmosphere inviting. I find myself coming back again and again.

The fresh flowers, music, and the coffee make this a place my daughters and I can come and spend hours. The size of the piece doesn't even matter. This is therapeutic for us and we all LOVE going.

Had a great time here! Fantastic, calm, and visually pleasing environment, great variety of things to choose from when deciding what to paint, and really good smoothies! I’ll have to try the coffee when I come back to pick up my bowl. Prices are very reasonable, I will definitely be back!
