jayjr1105 Hi guys, first post here. I just did a 3x3 ATF change on my 05 EX driving about 5-10 miles in between. It actually drained out almost exactly 3.5 quarts each drain. So I did my best to fill it with exactly what came out. Now that the whole procedure is complete, I'm a little high on the dipstick. Say 2-3mm above the "full" dot. I drove only around the block since the final 3.5 quart change/fill. Maybe I need to drive it more? I've read somehwere on this forum or another that overfilling can be just as bad as being too low. Should I remove the drain plug for a second and quickly pop it back in? BTW I'm at 125K, bought it around 90K so I figured it was due. I did buy it from a Honda Dealer so I assume they changed it. Maybe not. I used Valvoline Max Life full syn ATF. So far it's shifting fine. Didn't really have any tranny problems before the change, just doing some preventative maintenance. #1 · Aug 30, 2018 Hi guys, first post here. That's when problems begin. I don't think 2-3mm above will be a problem. However, I don't know how hot your climate is, what kind of driving you do, or other factors that could affect ATF temperature. So I recommend you reduce the level to the upper dot. Just a small amount will do it. I keep a clear vinyl hose for the purpose. Put it down the dipstick tube and carefully suck it up. Cracking the drain bolt would work too, but it seems more difficult to control the amount removed. Dave #4 · Aug 31, 2018 (Edited) Pennsylvania so pretty hot and humid this time of year (high 80's low 90's) I don't think I'm going to venture into getting aquarium tubing but might pop the drain plug off for a second and quickly put it back in. If I drain too much, I still have a quart or two left over. Just to give you an idea of how high I am on the dipstick, imgurDOTcom/a/UfgVLIi

OF #5 · Aug 31, 2018 If it is less than 1/4 inch above the full dot, I sure wouldn't worry about it. Mines was 3/8" over the top dot when I bought it used and I drove it for 30k miles that way with no problems, and that was in the mountains, etc. Buffalo4 Insert Quotes Post Reply
