Home ChevroletB0408 06 Chevrolet Chevrolet DTC B0408 06 Make: Chevrolet Code: B0408 06 Definition: Too Little or Too Much Secondary Air Description: Engine runtime over 11 minutes, engine speed over 700 rpm, then after the PCM shifted the A/F mixture rich by 10% for 18 seconds, it detected the O2 signal did not switch to rich, or with the AIR solenoid commanded ON, the O2 did not indicate a lean ratio Cause:
  • AIR solenoid air injection valve is damaged or has failed
  • AIR solenoid source vacuum hoses loose or disconnected
  • AIR solenoid air injection tube is restricted or clogged
  • PCM has failed
Failure Type: Algorithm Based FailureThis sub type is used for Algorithm Based Failures that cannot be assigned to a specific sub type.
