We transport to all legal continental states - currently USA only. Click here for the shipping policy. Hedgehogs are illegal to own as pets in the state of CA, GA, HI, and PA, as well as in Washington D.C. and the 5 boroughs of NYC.

All of our African Pygmy hedgehogs are pedigreed and have been selectively bred for health, temperament, conformation and color. Our babies are socialized daily to ensure you are getting a tame and friendly pet! Every pet hedgehog purchase come with a free snuggle sack, travel carrier, and extended health warranties and breeder support for the lifetime of the animal.

We will occasionally have juvenile and adult hedgehogs up for adoption as we retire them from our breeding herd. Older hedgehogs can be found at the bottom of this page, or by clicking here.

Adoption process

To adopt any of our babies or join our waiting list, please view pricing and availability below. All animals are available unless they are marked as “SOLD OUT.” Click on the button below to access the Adoption Application page and follow the step-by-step instructions. A $100 nonrefundable deposit and an approved adoption application are required to reserve any hedgehog. Do not submit an application without a deposit, and vice versa. Cancellations by the buyer will result in forfeiture of the nonrefundable deposit. Please read the care guide before asking us care-related questions, as our care guides answer most frequently asked questions. Contact us for additional inquiries or if you do not see what you are looking for below.

WAITING LIST: Our waiting list members get first choice of the litters, every time. Only the hedgehogs that have been passed over by our waiting list will be available for the general public to adopt. Click here for more information about our waiting list policy and how to request to join.

TRANSPORT: We can offer to arrange nationwide transport options within the continental United States with a third-party transport company. Click here for current transport cost estimates.

Please note that animal transport is at the buyer’s risk. Dragonstone Ranch does not guarantee the health or condition of a purchased animal once it leaves our care.

BREEDING RIGHTS: Approved breeders, click here for pedigrees (password protected). New breeders must contact us for approval and pedigree info.

PLEASE NOTE:

• Hedgehog colors are not guaranteed as their coloring can change as they grow.

• “Ready by” dates are only approximations and are not guaranteed.

• Hedgehog prices are based on color, conformation, temperament, sex and other genetic traits. Females are priced higher than males, but that is only because of the demand for females from breeders. There are no differences in dispositions between male and female hedgehogs as pets!

• We post first photos around 2 weeks of age, then update their photos around 4 weeks after they have fully opened their eyes and grown more fur. We also typically wait until hoglets are 4 weeks old before rating their temperaments since they can change so much during the first few weeks of life as we socialize them more and more. There are exceptions where we will rate 5 sooner if we just know (they are consistently very friendly from the getgo, amazing temperaments run in their family lines, etc.). You don’t want to sit on those!

Available Adult Hedgehogs

The following juvenile and adult hedgehogs may not have been bred by us and therefore do not come with health warantees, unless otherwise mentioned. Their discounted prices will reflect their age, temperaments and colors, as well as the lack of health warranty, if applicable. If there is a name on the photo, then the photo was that hedgehog’s herd photo. Herd photos could have been taken some time ago, so please be aware that hedgehogs may look different now than in their herd photos. These hedgehogs are already discounted and are therefore excluded from sales. Password protected pedigrees can be found here.

IMPORTANT: Hedgehogs over 2 years old are considered senior animals; please be prepared for upcoming vet visits (and therefore vet bills!) as these older animals encounter age-related health issues. Most of these hedgehogs are free to a good home with proof of proper enclosure, diet, and exotic vet contact. They come with NO HEALTH WARRANTIES.
