A flashing odometer is telling you there is an internal problem or fault in the system. Most likely the instrument panel. There could be a recall or a TSB out there on that problem. Most of the time they simply have to reprogram an onboard computer of which there are a few. That is an issue unfortunately the dealer will have to deal with. Information in the future would help like year, model, mileage, and purchased new or preowned. The only reason I mentioned that is recalls ect are unknown factors when you purchase preowned. You can open a owners account at Jeep.com/owners. You will need your VIN# to get it activated. Once activated you will see all about your vehicle especially recalls that are complete or not complete. Let us know how it comes out. Click to expand...Thank you very much for the info. I am going to look into that. It is a 2015 Cherokee with around 80,000 and I purchased it used with 27,000 miles. I will start on the owners account and see what happens. Keep you posted. One of my 2019 Cherokee’s started with this symptom as well as radio not turning on and the dealer said it needed new radio unit...replaced radio and still no fix! Ugh! Both of my 2019 Cherokee’s have had 3 radios installed...6 total...at least 3 were under warranty. Disappointing to say the least!!! #7 · Apr 21, 2021 Wait...you had 6 radios replaced on 2 different 2019’s? What the hell do you do to them? Lol Really, why so many? What were the issues? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk #8 · Apr 27, 2021 All issues where related to modules syncing (or not) according to the dealer and radios possessed by evil spirits (previous radios) where they just started to turn functions on and off (including back up camera while driving forward). Latest problem started with blinking odometer. Then radio controls & HVAC controls wouldn't function. Dealer threw a new radio at it and tried proxy resync...which didn't work. Then threw another module at it which fixed the issue. Then they told me both components where at fault (when I asked them to confirm old radio was indeed faulty)...1000 bux later I told them since they never verified the radio was at fault I wanted the old radio. Then I got a story of them returning it to FCA as there was a core charge for the radio and they would get back to me...still waiting. BTW this was 3 weeks worth of dealing with the dealer and broken vehicle. I own 2 Cherokees, a Rubicon, and a Power Wagon all purchased from this dealer... I'm seriously considering moving on and away from FCA products! #9 · Apr 27, 2021 You paid $1000.00 to get this fixed?? Are you out of warranty already? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk #11 · Apr 27, 2021 Yes, just out of warranty due to mileage. This is commuter that gets driven a couple hundred miles per day. And yes, new radio, new SGM and labor for both came in at just under 1K. Show more replies 0 Reply #10 · Apr 27, 2021 Hmmm, I wonder if the dealer doesn't (didn't) know about the Secure Gateway Module (SGM) on the 2019+ MY... Or if it was the SGM module that was at fault the entire time... #12 · Apr 27, 2021

Click to expand...That's what I believe and tried to argue the point of re-installing and checking out original radio.... no joy there so far! As the service underwriter is telling me tech verified both were faulty...even though I caught them in something of a bit of a story regarding the radio core charge and returning it to FCA. Said it "might" have already gone back to FCA.... I told them I paid for it and want it back. Also asked how they could verify original radio is faulty if it was already returned and the SGM was just received and installed the day I spoke to them which was a week after new radio was installed. They said they would get back to me on that....still waiting for that call...suspect it won't happen until I call them and be a further PITA to their BS! Anyone heard of a core charge for replacement of factory radio? I haven't! Anyone at FCA listening? 0 Reply #14 · Apr 27, 2021 Well that blows......not to rub anything in (I feel for you) but I get a extended warranty for my rolling computers. It’s a roll of the dice either way. Hey your still about a grand ahead, right? Hope you have no further issues.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Insert Quotes Post Reply
