mdcrabbie Had my car at the dealer the other day, since leaving the mileage in the odometer display has been flashing. Anybody know why? I have the base cluster and all other functions work as before. Called the service manager and he said he never heard of this issue, guess I'll be going back. #1 · Nov 20, 2015 Had my car at the dealer the other day, since leaving the mileage in the odometer display has been flashing. Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Nov 21, 2015 Donno how the service manger doesn't know what that means. Your car needs a proxi alignment from the dealer. #3 · Nov 21, 2015 Mine did that after Jace was wrecked. I thought it had something to do with the transmission (he was a manual), but I can't be sure, I didn't run the car much after the wreck (only at the yard once so I could pull the mudflaps off). #4 · Nov 21, 2015 I'd go somewhere else. That service manager is not good at his job. #5 · Nov 21, 2015 Mine did that and they had to replace the BCM. #6 · Nov 21, 2015 Mine has done it twice. The first time after having the navigator part replaced under warranty. The odometer was flashing. The Tech apparently didn't notice it. After driving it for a couple of days it cleared up. The second time I lost some stations on my Sirius Satellite Radio (the car is an early build...) the dealership flashed or updated the whole system and the odometer started flashing. They ordered a replacement dash screen. It soon stopped flashing like the first time. I told them that it was fine, but they insisted on replacing the dash since it was already ordered and configured to my car. They managed to gouge the plastic below the cluster and I no longer have an engine hour meter function. My suggestion would be to give it a few days before surrendering it to the dealership and see if it straightens out. They never did get the radio to pick up the missing stations and they had no interest in helping me any further. I took it to another nearby dealer that eventually replaced the radio after several trips there. #7 · Nov 21, 2015 I agree, time for a new dealer #8 · Dec 22, 2015 I have a 2013 and starting in August of this year I have experienced the odometer flashing. It seems to have started after the dealer did a computer update. I have brought it back to the dealer 3 times already and within 48 hours it starts flashing again. My dealer seems to be of the same variety as some of the other dealers. Don't seem to either care or know how to fix the problem. When my odometer flashes I lose the Bluetooth capabilities. I also find that if I leave the car sit for a week or so the battery is dead. I believe the two are related. Any chance the flashing is a symptom of an electrical short that is draining the battery? Has Dodge addressed this? #9 · Dec 22, 2015 @luciarson you need find another dealer and request a proxi-alignment and or another once over/multi-point inspection. There shouldn't be any other issues assosiciated with the symptoms you are describing, other than an incompetent dealership. #10 · Dec 22, 2015 Went back to the dealer and they fixed it. It is caused by the computer not communicating with all the various modules. A proxy alingment was needed, out the door in under 30 mins. #11 · Dec 22, 2015 Hi MDcrabbie, Glad to hear everything worked okay! I wish I could find another dealer but unfortunately there are only 2 dealers within a reasonable driving distance and the other one is a crook. It seems that the service department doesn't really mean service. No loaner, no shuttles and no help. #13 · Dec 23, 2015 if you are not getting the high level of service that you feel you deserve, call this number and let dodge know what is going on. 1-800-4A-DODGE no matter how trivial you think the issue is, remind them that there a lots of other brands of cars on the road if they arent willing to make you 100% happy... i called dodge customer care once because a local dealer doing warranty work (for the 3rd time) was not washing my dart after service, and they gave my car back to me dirty, looking like dog crap. the next time i got a car wash. it was a miracle, lol! 0 Reply #14 · Jan 15, 2016 $210 was the quote for the proxi alignment and that it would take 2 hours to do at the dealership here in my area. Wowsers! :popped out: #15 · Nov 1, 2020 I’m not sure why, but mine was doing it for several weeks and my Bluetooth module was broken as well. If these were not working, would it cause the airbags to not deploy? #16 · Nov 1, 2020 If the air bag light is off, your air bags would deploy normally. The BCM senses a configuration change and since the bluetooth is not working, that is why the odometer is flashing. Everything else should still work. A PROXI configuration will need to get done after the CTM (bluetooth) is fixed. There is an android app called alfaOBD which together with an android device and the OBDLinkMX+ bluetooth scanner that can do the PROXI. Insert Quotes Post Reply
