Description

Give new brass or bronze hardware the patina of time with this easy ager solution. Simply submerge the item until the desired level of darkening has occurred. Easily reverisible by polishing, if so desired. Please note, this solution only works on unlacquered metal surfaces. Items with a lacquered finish must be stripped prior to aging. The darkened finish may be left natural or given a protective coating of spray lacquer or furniture polish.Due to Federal regulations this product may not be shipped by air transportation or outside the Continental US.MSDS - Material Safety Data Sheet available upon request. Aging brass to look old.

Comments:

I used this product to darken the bright brass finish on several coffee/end tables legs. These tables had been my mothers, wanted to keep them, but needed to change the finish, to resemble a dark antique look. Worked well.

Aging is Great !!!

Comments:

My wife and I own a garage door and entry door company. Some of our entry doors have swinging vented side lites. We had a hard time finding a Co. that had the right latches that would work for us. Then we found a antique hardware supplier on line. When we did our sales rep. told us about this aging solution that we could use and we could do all the aging on all our brass products that we buy from them and save some money. So we tried it and he was correct. We have saved lots of $$$$ and it is ao simple. So we say thank you.

aging made easy

I build Draft beer systems and was contacted by MGM to construct a display of a beer tower to look old and weathered. long story short. I ordered the brass ager and done some testing on some old brass beer faucets and it worked great. Aged them quick and the outcome was awesome. Good products and I would recommend the product to anyone who is looking for a quick solution to their projects.

In order to get a uniform finish I found it best to use some very fine steel wool after the treatment. The product worked great!

AMAZING. Does just what it says-turns brass to bronze.

So I got a deep soaking cast iron tub and brass floor mounted faucet out of a house where the owners decided to renovate. The faucet was dated in appearance-brass. It was an extremely heavy, sturdy piece, so I decided to try and update it. I took it all apart, and poured the ager into giant ziplock bags (the kind you store clothing in) and in went the pieces. I moved them around for even aging, and left the pieces in for a few hours. After removing the pieces, I wiped them down well then used some mineral oil on them-voila. Oil rubbed bronze. It's been months, and the finish looks as perfect as the day I aged the pieces. I think this stuff is absolutely amazing.

Antique Brass is Bueatiful

Item came quickly and is easy to use with excellent results. I am antiquing my old ceiling canopies which were covered by ages of paint. After removing the old paint, I soak the items in the solution until I get just the right shade. To complete the process, I rinse the solution off and let the item dry. The final step is to coat lightly with oil.

Brass Aging Process

Comments:

To get the aging effect I was looking for in aging some polished brass hinges, it took a little more work than advertised. I had to perform multiple steps and treatment to achieve the effects I was looking for. Roughed up the polished brass with steel wool, soaked in solutions for 2-minutes, repeated step one with steel wool, soaked again for another 2-minutes. This resulted in the effect I was looking for.
