Description

Give new brass or bronze hardware the patina of time with this easy aging solution. Simply submerge the item until the desired level of darkening has occurred. Easily reverisible by polishing, if so desired. Please note, this solution only works on unlacquered metal surfaces. Items with a lacquered finish must be stripped prior to aging. The darkened finish may be left natural or given a protective coating of spray lacquer or furniture polish.Due to Federal regulations this product may not be shipped by air transportation or outside the Continental US.MSDS - Material Safety Data Sheet available upon request. Ages brass fast!

Comments:

Left my drawer handles in solution for less than a minute then rinsed in water, and had the color I wanted. Aging the handles myself allowed me to get the finish I wanted. Less expensive too! Thanks for suggesting that I age it myself. (First time I did this)

Aging - didn't age door knocker/kickplat

Wanted to age my old brass door knocker with peephole, since they are hard to find, and new aluminum brass finished kickplate. Neither item aged with this solution, but it was worth a shot. Thanks anyway.

Aging brass water pipe to oil rubbed

Comments:

I couldn't find oil rubbed nipples and ball valves to match other products I was using in a bathroom remodel. This solution worked great turning shiny brass to oil rubbed right before your eyes. Make sure all the clear finish is off of whatever brass fitting your using and your container is just big enough to hold the peice. Pour in the solution till it covers the peice and watch till it is the color you want then remove and rinse it off. Simple and effective, the most work is removing the clear finish if it has one. I tried a form of paint from a local hobby shop that didn't work so don't waste your time on that.

Amazing stuff!

This stuff was AMAZING. I needed to age just the edges of a unique bronze craft item before I sold it, and none of the usual ""home remedies"" were working. I ordered this, and the job was done on each piece within 5 seconds -- perfect darkening! This was awesome.

Authentic looking ageing

Comments:

Wish it were slightly cheaper, but this stuff aged new hardware I bought so it matched the original stuff on my house perfectly. The bottle says to leave things submerged for 1-10 minutes, but honestly rolling raw brass parts around in it for 45 seconds made them almost black. It works quick.

Brass Aging

Comments:

Purchased this product on recommendation of others to age brass. It is reported to be better than liver of sulfur for aging metals such as brass. I plan to experiment with it on other alloys.
