Its like he fell in love with someone that helped him fix everything in his life and hes finally happy and doesnt want to come dowm from the cloud hes on, or go back to his old ways, Maybe im insane. W.e

To me this song is clearly about opiate use and the ups and downs of addiction. Right from the start, love and hate. He obviously loves the high he gets when first using., unfortunately he hates the "comedown' when he loses the intence sensation just as much...I also feel as though he is speaking directly to his heroin, which I found quite genious as far as song writing is concerned. Once he slleps the high fades and though I'm not certain, when he says "who was thereb to take your place, he may be referring to either attempting to reignite the high with either alcohol or another drug. In many cases herion is a very secretive addition due to stigma, sham, and fear. By stating "No one knows, never will. Mostly me mostly you", I again feel as though he is speaking directly to the heroin...One more feeling I get from rhe lyrics in Comedown is that this may have been referring to the first time he used, or in the very beginning of his use due to the lyrics, "took me all this time to find out what I need."...When it comes right down(no pun intended) to this song I think it's genious and find Gavin's words brilliant and very easy to relate to in my case.

I agree with drug theme. Many songs (or every song) in the album is about disillusioment, unhapiness, uncomfort, etc. I think they leave love songs for the last tracks, like glycerine and alien. But songs like everything zen, swim, machinehead had a pesimist view of the world, and so does comedown. Rossdale was a fucking drug addict, and like maynard james keenan from tool said, "when there´s no pain, there´s no will to create either".

I will becuase I love bush. I believe this song is about love and all the ups and downs coming with love. However on the otherhand I dont have a problem that Gavin Rossdale was geeked out of his mind when he wrote alot of those early Bush songs. It always seemed to me that alot of there songs could be about drug use

This song probably is about love. But it also could be about something else. Like just feeling good life itself. Going through a tough time and then it all gets better and you find a cloud (or something like that) and life's good, and you never want it to stop.

Honestly, i always thought this song was about drug addiction. I was always sketchy cause it didnt seem like Gavin would be the type to be addicted to anything. Anyway, to me it sounds like the "you"s and "she"s are actually refering to the drug.

this song is defenitly about herion and shooting up (needles) coming down means to come down from a high. in the music video the band has ruber tubes on there instuments drug users use them to cut off circulation (tie off) i can see how non drug users wouldnt understand but take it from someone who uses, the terms used in the song are every day drug slang

It's obviously about drugs, there's lyrics missing. Right before the 2nd verse before he starts over he says: shoot up, shoot up, shoot up, you're high.(love and hate get it wrong she cut me right back down to size) love and hate relationship with drugs, and how it wins. (Sleep the day, let it fade.who was there to take your place) sleeping the withdraws away, nothing is worth doing without the drug. (No one knows, never will.mostly me but mostly you) a non addict will never understand, that it's now more about the drug then himself.(what do u say, do u do, when it all comes down) when you're dope sick. This song is about time wasted with addiction and psychological paranoia of what the future holds without the drug to numb seemingly endless obstacles that now face him since he was dependent on the drug to do this for him. "All police are paranoid. So am I, so is the future, so are you a creature." He realizes his time was spent trying to self medicate his issues, but contradictory to this, he realizes the drugs just created more problems and realizes he has wasted all his time blinding his reality. Now faced with reality, he is reluctant to not be dependent on drugs because he feels a fatalism with his past life as time wasted, and feels too impatient to solve his problems for the future. "Cause i dont want to come down from this cloud, it's taken me all this time to find out what i need." He is fighting himself to not commit suicide and to go on living his life. But he feels the consequences of coming off drugs will make him feel inadequate to take on the future since he felt safe in drugs in the feeling of drugs. Still he knows that he lived life only for the moment, and is trying not confuse the longevity of a living for the future as opposed to a short temporary existence. He has to therefore find a new self, but realizes the existential crises of trying to develop himself in a new world of a greater and more human existence he is unfamiliar with despite knowing it's likely there. "Who was there to take your place, no one knows, never will, mostly me and mostly you. It is a seemingly impossible task overcome himself despite that others show the possibility of living a happy and better life.
