• Heather-bell from Georgia@Sean Hines from California ~Sooo the fact that Gavin Rossdale said the song is about his girlfriend makes no nevermind to you, huh? LOL. As a recovered opioid addict I gotta say it's disturbing (and irresponsible) to see someone so publicly heavily romanticize opioid use, especially since there's young people on this thread... even one as young as 13... or they were at the time they commented. Yes, the high obviously feels good or people wouldn't get addicted to it. HOWEVER, you fail to mention how it absolutely wrecks your life and coming down isn't just a little harsh... it's absolute hell! Like, as in wanting to unalive oneself BAD! Better to never know that high... especially that first high, because you always chase it & will never find it again... and then you're stuck feeling nothing but horribly dope sick & then have to cope with the withdrawals and your body breaking down. Don't ever start doing drugs folks! It's never worth the terror & hell that follows, and no euphoria (which never lasts anyway) is worth dying for!

• Sean Hines from California It's obviously about heroin. Not only does the song describe an opiate high and 'comedown' in the lyrics, but it even says "shoot up" several times in the bridge. I don't care what Bush said about the song. Not to mention the toon just has that 'feel' to it. It is possible it has a double meaning, perhaps comparing smack to love, but the song is undoubtedly about shooting up smack and not wanting to come down from it. I can totally relate to the part where he says "took me so long to find out what need"; it's that feeling when you first try opioids and realize that's exactly the drug you were looking for. All that emotional pain is just irrelevant, covered my overwhelming waves of euphoria. Oh the nostalgia, brings back the memories....
• Zero from The Abyss, NjThis song reminds me of Bipolar disorder. (aka manic depression) When you're manic you never want to come back down from that natural high but you have to sometime, if you try to fight it, you'll just cause yourself anxiety.

This song meant Cloud 9 to me everytime I listened to it. I'm no longer with the person I'm in love with, but he's very much apart of my life still, and I'm still very much in love with him. "I don't wanna come back down from this cloud, it's taken me all this time to find out what i needed." Best part of the song. No matter what happens, Jesse has always made me feel like I was on Cloud 9, and I never wanna comedown.

Theres a strong sense of happiness when your high, and the comedown is an expression used for saying comming back to the reality of whatever situation. And in this situation, he didnt wanna.Truly a happy/sad song. And one of my favorites.

"I don't want to come back down from this cloud" I interpret as like cloud 9; something that feels so good. "it's taken me all this time to find out what I need" to me is like finding yourself through a relationship, only to "come down" into a depression and not knowing what to do next. Just my 2 cents!
