Issues fixed

Out of memory error on start-up

Game may display an error message stating that your hard-disk is probably full. Seems to only happen on the first start-up after installing the game where it fails to create the required configuration data.
Hit F11 while the game launches, no download needed[citation needed]

When you see the splash image of MW2, wait for about 3 seconds and hit F11. Timing is different based on the CPU speed, so you can also just spam F11 until it solves the problem.

Download and patch the config data manually[citation needed]
  • Download the files here and extract the archive to the game's root folder.
Start using Safe Mode in Windows[citation needed]
The game seems to generate the proper configuration files when running in Safe Mode, fixing the issue.
  1. Open the 'Run' dialog box with 'WinKey+R'.
  2. Type in msconfig and hit enter.
  3. Go to the boot tab under the Boot Options and check Safe Boot and bubble in Network, hit apply and restart your computer.
  4. Once you are booted into Safe Mode, launch the game and set it to anything but fullscreen. Exit the game using the Quit to desktop option in the menu and restart your computer.
  5. Launch the game and change the desired graphics settings.

Interminable loading times

Running the game with the Steam FPS counter enabled can prevent the loading of some missions, rendering the game unplayable.
Disable Steam FPS counter[citation needed]
  1. Go to Steam > Settings > In-Game.
  2. Set the In-game FPS counter to off.
