Guide Index Overview 2023 update Tutorial Comments 2023 update Download CC, subscribe and the profile will be added to the controller. Tutorial First things first. MW2 doesn't have official controller support on the PC, so you wont be able to have aim assist when you play.Goto the steam store (this guide is for controller companion) and buy controller compaion its 3 bucks. This guide will be for xbox one/360 controller and PS3/PS4 controller. I'm not sure about 3rd party hardware, it should work if they support Xinput or HID.Xbox one/360Connect your controller to your PC via USB. Let the drivers install. Play a game to see if it works (that has controller support)Open controller compaionHead over to my profile and browse my workshop item its the PERFECT key for key from xbox/ps. I play on tactical so I knife with B instead of right analog (you can change this) Download it and it will automatically map the keys. Save the profile and you're all done. This will only work on the MP portion of the game if you want it for the single player let me and ill add it to my workshop. You can either have the controller hooked up via usb or dongle. I personally use the official dongle for seemless wireless play. You're all done. Now for Playstation controllers. You must disable driver signature enforcer (youtube a guide)First things first. Follow the guide above and have the profile ready to go.http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-XInput-Wrapper-for-DS3-and-Play-com-USB-Dual-DS2-ControllerDownload this software. It will install a few things and add some icons to your desktopWhen It comes time to select your controller hit the drop down arrow and PS3 or PS4.What it does: It tricks windows into thinking your PS controller is a xbox controller so if you play say... Resident Evil you'd see xbox controls on screen. A=X, B=O, RT=R2 etc. Once SCP has finished everything you can turn on the controller via usb and it emulate an xbox controller.Seems like a lot but its fairly simple I can play MW2 with a controller by just pressing the xbox home button.Things to keep in mind:MW2 doesn't have official support for controllers, on PC. No aim assistIt simulates the M+KB Its 10000000x easier to tube with.Unless you're really close to someone you will get slaughtered in long range firefightsI would suggest just sticking with mouse and keyboard. If its something you struggle with just get a game you're familar with from console. I tought myself in 1999 when I was playing counter strike.Any questions or if you got stuck somewhere shoot me a comment and I'll be glad to help you. 99 Comments < > WH@TeVeR 17 Jun, 2024 @ 2:59am I typically just use my steering wheel. MorallyBankrupt [author] 22 Nov, 2023 @ 1:24pm Make sure the MW2 is set to default controls. Only thing that needs to be switch is the hold to aim down sights appak 21 Nov, 2023 @ 1:48pm heya! i installed the program, subbed to your addon and launched mw2 2009, and everything worked besides the triggers, which only worked in the menu... bass3991Tiktok 24 Jul, 2023 @ 11:57am I have a Xbox one I’ve been playing on there since servers are up again Pegasis-Vera (She/They) 19 Jul, 2023 @ 12:14pm "@MorallyBankrupt" That's... Odd, I've never had issues with it and honestly swear by it. If it works for you, for sure, by all means, but I think it should be mentioned that there's a free alternative for others. :)"@Devvo Mecha Engine Lover" Not everyone enjoys it. I personally like keyboard and mouse more, but some people like a controller and that's fine. And then you've got people like myself carrying a Steam Deck. Not everyone is playing on a 3 screen desktop, some are on a laptop or a handheld for a car trip and that's fine as well. :) MorallyBankrupt [author] 18 Jul, 2023 @ 2:45pm Yes, I've tried the steam configuration years ago when I made this. There's an issue which prevents the camera from doing full 180° spins. That is why I moved over to CC there is nothing "Dodgy" about this program. Pegasis-Vera (She/They) 18 Jul, 2023 @ 5:29am Hey, I would like to help you update this a tad. Instead of people paying for a dodgy software, you can use Steam Input to emulate a keyboard with a controller right from the Shift+Tab Overlay. Pretty much you go to Controller Configuration and can start with a premade one and work from there fine tuning it, or you can edit the controls yourself. I personally made one that shows controller keys on every game. How? Basically I set them to a standardized controller format, ABYX in this case, and just edit the buttons in-game and it shows the closest to correct prompts there can possibly be. Steam also emulates Xbox 360 controllers with basically anything you can find to plug in. Some games have issues still requiring software like "x360ce" (such as Dead Rising 2: OTR). I hope this is helpful at all. :) bigmike11869 1 Sep, 2022 @ 5:04pm you mentioned you fixed the deadzone.deadzone min. is 0.2 and max is 0.01 for this game or so the dvar says.\how is that possible. MorallyBankrupt [author] 19 Jul, 2021 @ 5:19am You goto my workshop page of the controller companion to subscribe christientriffett 19 Jul, 2021 @ 12:29am Hi, trying to subscribe to get controller companion but I cannot see a subscribe button anywhere, where will I find it? < > Close Share to your Steam activity feed Link: You need to sign in or create an account to do that.
