urabus40 U Anyone know which side is the P0345 Camshaft position sensor. Passenger or drivers side? #1 · Jan 23, 2009 Anyone know which side is the P0345 Camshaft position sensor. Passenger or drivers side? Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Jan 23, 2009 Like I mentioned in the other thread, my car threw that CEL when the drivers side intake cam broke, so you probably have an issue with the drivers side sensor, which I think is towards the firewall. #3 · Jan 23, 2009 (Edited) There's two cam sensors. One of the drivers rear of the head, the other on the passenger rear of the head. it's bank two, which is typically cylinders 2&4 which is the drivers side. #4 · Jan 23, 2009 so one cam sensor would cause all cylinder misfire? #5 · Jan 24, 2009 Maybe your timing belt skipped? Could explain the misfire and the cam position sensor CEL, maybe. #6 · Jan 24, 2009 general rule of thumb is, whichever cylinders are more foreward (further away from the trans, closer to the crank pulley) is cylinder 1. whichever side of the engine contains cylinder 1, is bank 1. thats really easy on our engines because all you have to do is look at the intake manifold to see which one is closer to the crank pulley. #7 · Jan 24, 2009 Well if I read the service manual correctly then one camshaft sensor can effect all four cylinders. Replaced camshaft sensor on bank 2 with a new one from the dealer which cost 113 bux after taxes. Also replaced the crimped drain hose on the crawford separator and removed the filters for the avcs.. The filters have been there for 94,000 miles I think its a good time for them to come out. Drove the car up and down a long stretch on the interstate a few times and through the city racking up 43 miles. Still have two more problems . One there is oil in my intercooler and two I'm going to try and rip out the rest of the up-pipe heat shield tomorrow... #8 · Sep 5, 2015 really old dig up, I am currently dealing with a CEL, P0018. Has this issue been resolved? my car is a 07 sti. just replaced the camshaft sensor on bank 2.. and getting a new code which is the P0018. was getting a misfiring code on cylinder 2 & 4 before the sensor replacement... Please help!!!!!! #9 · Sep 5, 2015 how is the car running? have you pulled the timing belt covers off to check timing? #10 · Sep 5, 2015 (Edited) Yes, I just had a mechanic/friend help me check the timing belt. everything looked fine and the belt itself was still in good condition. I just posted this on another thread regarding this CEL, please bare with the back story: "I have just finished a 400 mile drive from socal to norcal (with stops & fill ups) Car drove fine until about last 5 miles of the trip and started idling erratically. I realized it was misfiring and struggled it home. First thing I did was check the spark plugs & replaced them (had a lot of miles and was very dirty). Then after an ECU reset, started the car back up and kept idling bad. Finally a CEL came up, this time it was a misfire code on cylinder 2 & 4. I replaced the camshaft position sensor on driver side and started the engine. This time giving me a new CEL. "P0018 Crankshaft - camshaft correlation bank 2 sensor A" I am absolutely stumped on what to do next..." EDIT: During the removal of the intake manifold to replace the cam-position sensor on driver side, cam-position sensor electrical plug was damaged on passenger side. Rigged the terminals back in and reassembled the car. My mechanic tells me this can effect the opposite side, which is giving me the CEL for bank 2. 0 Reply #11 · Aug 24, 2016 Did you ever got this fixed? I am throwing a P000D for cam position slow adjustment or something but my AP just states no description. I am wondering how to fix this issue here. #12 · Aug 25, 2016 did you try replacing the sensor? 0 Reply #13 · Feb 10, 2023 Hey where is the camshaft positioning sensor located on a 2012 Ford explorer on the passenger side Insert Quotes Post Reply
