Learn how to make your own versatile cannabis-infused sugar that can jazz up anything from your morning coffee to cupcakes and more. The process is easy and this post will show you how!

Cannabis-Infused Sugar Ingredients

Cannabis Tincture: Before we get started, you’ll need to make a cannabis tincture, which is decarboxylated cannabis soaked in food-grade alcohol. You can use either the green dragon or golden dragon tincture from our cannabis tincture guide.

Sugar: You can use granulated sugar, brown sugar, coconut sugar, or turbinado. Other crystalline sugars may work as well! Powdered sweeteners like Splenda won’t work.

How to Make Cannabis THC or CBD-Infused Sugar

  1. Add the sugar to a baking dish.
  2. Pour your tincture over the sugar.
  3. Use a silicone spatula to mix the sugar and tincture thoroughly, coating the sugar with your cannabis tincture. The mixture will resemble wet sand.
  4. Cover the dish with a layer of cheesecloth to keep dust, cat hair, fairies, and other debris out of your sugar.
  5. Place the dish somewhere it won’t be disturbed and allow the alcohol to evaporate completely. Stir frequently to ensure complete evaporation of the alcohol. If you’re looking to speed up evaporation, keep in mind that alcohol is EXTREMELY flammable. I use a heat mat for seedlings underneath my baking dish as a low heat source to speed up evaporation.
  6. The sugar is ready when it again looks like dry sugar, and it no longer smells like alcohol.
  7. Enjoy!

How to Store Cannabis-Infused Sugar

The end product is shelf-stable and can be kept in an air-tight container in a cool, dark place for a long time.
