Cedar Point's HalloWeekends To Return This Fall, With New Thursday ...

SANDUSKY, Ohio – HalloWeekends, Cedar Point’s popular fall festival, will return in 2021 after being canceled last year. And new this year: extra hours on Thursday and Friday in October.

Tony Clark, Cedar Point’s director of communications, made the announcement Thursday on the park website. Attraction and entertainment details will be announced later, he said.

HalloWeekends is a dual event, featuring both the family-friendly Tricks and Treats Fall Fest during the day and scarier Haunt attractions in the evening. The event typically draws some of the biggest crowds of the year.

Last year, because of the coronavirus pandemic, the park offered just the Tricks and Treats Fall Fest.

As a response to the growing HalloWeekends crowds, the park will expand hours in 2021, to include full-day operations on Fridays in October, plus Thursday evenings. In past years, the event typically ran Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday.

“The new October HalloWeekends schedule gives you even more options to enjoy the event, and with Saturdays typically being our busiest day, you now have alternatives to sneak that last Cedar Point visit in before the season ends,” wrote Clark.

Starting Sunday, Oct. 3, and running through Oct. 31, the park will be open: 6 p.m.-midnight Thursdays, 11 a.m.-midnight Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sundays. HalloWeekends will also run Friday-Sunday, starting Sept. 17.

In addition to the new HalloWeekends hours, Clark also announced that reservations are no longer required at Cedar Point Shores waterpark. Cedar Point started the year with reservations required at both the waterpark and the amusement park. The amusement park dropped the reservation requirement last month.

Both the park and waterpark are open daily through Monday, Sept. 6.
