Do you ever get dizzy when you roll over in bed, bend over or turn your head fast?Published on May 23, 2016

If so, you might be suffering from a condition called Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo or BPPV.  BPPV is the most common cause of vertigo which is a false sense of spinning.  This is a benign condition of your inner ear where a crystal that is typically embedded in the base of your inner ear breaks free and floats around one of the three cannels in your inner ear.  These calcium deposits or crystals are not supposed be floating around in your inner ear and they send false signals to your brain making you feel dizzy or give you a sensation of spinning.  If you think you might have vertigo, see your doctor and they can refer you to a PT or Chiropractor who can correct your problem in a few short sessions.

Please do not feel you have to live with this condition and if you are currently taking medicine, there are other ways to treat it conservatively.  There are also some simple exercises your PT can teach you to help strengthen your inner ear or otherwise known as your vestibular system.

Please come by and visit us at RightSPINE, you might be surprised as to other conditions physical therapy and chiropractors can treat conservatively without medicine.

I suffered from vertigo for a long time. A few years ago, I stood up from my chair and the room began to spin. I fell and my head hit the tiles, causing a severe concussion and a mild skull fracture. Even though there was no permanent damage, I knew I might not be so lucky next time. Luckily, I found these powerful vertigo and dizziness exercises and no my vertigo was gone in just days: http://www.healthwise101.com/vertigo-exercises-that-really-work

Sean, I apologize for the delayed response, but the person who oversaw replies left the job due to the pandemic and we haven't been able to fill the position as of yet. You sound like you need an evaluation of the condition. Dizziness that comes on when bending could be a few different things depending on specific characteristics. Please call the office and schedule and exam.

Sorry for the delayed response, but the person who oversaw the website responses left their position due to the pandemic and we haven't been able to fill it. I can tell you that there is no simple answer for home care when it comes to this condition. You should have the problem fully evaluated to understand if there is something underlying that is leading to it.

Thank you for submitting that information. Exercises work for some patients, but not everyone responds to the same treatment depending upon the etiology of the problem.

I recently experienced/suffered an episode of vertigo where as when i woke from my sleep, the room was spinning. I thought I was dreaming and went bad to sleep. When I reawakened, the room was still spinning and I could not get a fixed gaze long enough to sit up, so I laid there trying to stabilize myself. This lasted almost three days and I still have fog brain. How do I connect with right spine?
