The first three seasons of Lucifer are streaming on Amazon Prime VIdeo now. After Fox cancelled the show in 2018, the series moved to Netflix for the final three seasons. At the end of season four, Lucifer (played by Tom Ellis) returned to Hell and at the end of season five, part one, a visit from a certain celestial being got fans wondering about one thing. Does Lucifer come back to Earth in season 5?

There is good news for fans who are catching up on all things Lucifer.At the end of season four, Lucifer returned to rule over Hell after his presence on Earth was literally causing hell on Earth.Several demons had arrived in LA, wreaking havoc in a bid to get Lucifer to return to his rightful case.Father Kinley (Graham McTavish) had also become possessed by the demon Dromos, who attempted to make Lucifer's nephew Charlie the new King of Hell.

Thankfully, in episode three of season five, part one, Lucifer made a highly-anticipated return to Earth after he learned his evil twin brother Michael was impersonating him and infiltrating his life in LA.During his time on Earth, Lucifer finally struck up a relationship with Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) much to fans' delight.However, after the events of episode eight, fans are worried when Lucifer season five, part two airs, Lucifer will no longer be on Earth which will ultimately jeopardize his relationship with Chloe.At the end of season five, part one Michael joined forces with Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) against Lucifer and Amenadiel (DB Woodside).

Fans are hoping Lucifer will not return to hell in season 5 at any point (Image: NETFLIX)The official Lucifer Twitter account posted a fan cam video, recapping what had happened in Lucifer season five so far and the end of 2020.Just as it looked like the 57-second montage was coming to an end, the final five seconds featured a scene from Lucifer season five, episode nine.The clip ended with God standing behind Lucifer and touching his shoulder, where he said: "I've come to ask you something."With God's hand on his shoulder, Lucifer was visibly shaking but whether it is out of rage, fear or sadness remains unknown.However, a second teaser clip showed Chloe looking for Lucifer in the LAPD offices suggests God, Lucifer, Amenaidel, Michael and Maze had disappeared completely.
