Ed Sheeran's Suffolk Coast
Maybe your like
If you didn't know already, multi-award winning songwriter and singer Ed Sheeran is a fellow Suffolk Coaster!
The star grew up in the historic town of Framlingham, and it's his hometown that was the source of inspiration for his latest release.
If you fancy tracing Ed's steps, then why not plan a trip to Orford; the setting for the video, and the 'Castle on the Hill' in Framlingham...
Orford
One of Suffolk's most picturesque villages, it's not hard to see why Ed Sheeran chose it for the setting of his video.
Take a step back in time and visit the castle, which offers panoramic coastal views, before warming up with a steaming hot chocolate in one of the many cafes in the High Street.
Orford Ness has a mysterious past, once the haunt of smugglers, the 10 mile shingle spit with marshes, lagoons and waterways later became a Ministry of Defence Atomic Weapons Research Centre. Today, the Nature Reserve is home to some of the UKs rarest birdlife.
After a day of exploring, enjoy a meal and stay at The Crown and Castle where 4-legged friends are welcome too!

Framlingham
No trip to Framlingham would be complete without a trip to the 'Castle on the Hill'. Whilst some artistic licence may have been used when Ed refers to a 'Mountain,' be sure to take a walk around the castle Mere; a haven for birdlife and wildlife in all seasons.
The Castle itself has stood in the Suffolk town since the 12th Century and it was here that Mary Tudor was proclaimed Queen of England. Walk around the castle walls and enjoy views across the town and surrounding Suffolk countryside, or join in with the sword fighting, bow and arrow training, and live music on one of the many themed days.
Packed with independent shops, cafes and restaurants, there are plenty of places to enjoy a delicious lunch, or a la carte meal made with locally sourced produce. And for hardcore Ed fans, stop for a coffee in The Dancing Goat, where you will find the plaque marking one million sales of the album 'X' hanging on the wall, donated to the cafe by Ed himself!
