Mar 8, 2013 136 0 18,680 Hello everyone, I've recently tried to optimise my current CPU overclock (a Core i5 4670K), and after roughly two weeks of testing I've come to the conclusion my CPU simply can't reach 4.5 Ghz. I have, however, noticed it comes very close to staying stable at that speed. I have been looking for a way to lower the overclock slightly (to 4480Mhz) in hopes of reaching stability. I was trying to achieve this by raising the base clock (and adjusting multipliers accordingly) yet I noticed it also alters something called the DMI/PEG clock. I have only a vague idea of what this does, and so I would like to ask: will altering this DMI/PEG clock (either raising or lowering it) change anything else apart from the CPU and RAM? Can this damage my system in any way? Thank you in advance! My specs: CPU: Core i5 4670K (@4.4 Ghz, 1.264v, 4.3 Ghz cache) CPU cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer 240 Motherboard: Asus Maximus vi Gene RAM: Corsair XMS3 @1600Mhz PSU: Seasonic SS-600 ET Solution Adjusting the BCLK on that gen mobo should also affect your GPU Sort by date Sort by votes dylanestrada
