Enola Holmes 2: Release Date, Trailer, Cast And Plot For The Sequel

Enola Holmes 2 has officially been confirmed by Netflix! Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill are back as Enola Holmes and older brother Sherlock in a sequel to the 2020 film.

Netflix just dropped a brand new trailer for Enola Holmes 2, and it's a biggie! We see Millie Bobby Brown reuniting with Henry Cavill and, this time, Enola and Sherlock's cases are linked. Plus Helena Bonham Carter is back too! Have watch here:

Enola Holmes 2 cast: Who will star in Enola Holmes 2?

Many of the original film's main cast members have been confirmed as returning for the second movie.

Millie Bobby Brown is of course reprising her role as Enola, while Henry Cavill is returning as Sherlock. Helena Bonham Carter is also thought to be back as Enola's mum and mentor Eudoria Holmes, while Chewing Gum's Susan Wokoma will return as Enola's jiu jitsu teacher Edith.

Meanwhile, Netflix's above promo confirmed Louis Partridge's return as Tewkesbury.

On top of starring in the sequel, Millie Bobby Brown is also listed as a producer on the new film, alongside her sister Paige Brown under their family's production company PCMA Productions.

What will Enola Holmes 2 be about?

According to Netflix, (and its official synopsis), here's what we can expect from Enola Holmes 2:

"Now a detective-for-hire like her infamous brother, Enola Holmes takes on her first official case to find a missing girl, as the sparks of a dangerous conspiracy ignite a mystery that requires the help of friends – and Sherlock himself – to unravel."

This sounds like a similar storyline to the second Enola Holmes Mysteries novel by Nancy Springer - the book series that the film series is based on. The Case of the Left-Handed Lady sees Millie Bobby Brown's character try and track down the missing Lady Cecily Alistair, all while avoiding Sherlock.

While the sequel isn't likely to be the exact same as the novel, it looks as though there's a lot of inspo there. And speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Millie also shared some info about where the film is set: "We set the film in the hustle and bustle of London, which is something that we didn't really get to see as much in the first one," she said. "We got to really see what this young girl is doing in this crazy city that surrounds her night and day."

What have the cast said about Enola Holmes 2?

Following the news that she would be returning for the sequel, Millie said in a statement, "I can’t wait to collaborate again with my Enola Holmes family! Enola holds a special place in my heart – she’s strong, fearless, intelligent and brave. I look forward to fans seeing how her journey continues!"

After the second film was initially announced back in May last year, Millie shared a behind-the-scenes picture on set (though it's not clear whether the snap is from the first or second film), adding the caption, "the sequel is afoot #EnolaHolmes2".

At the time, Henry Cavill re-shared Millie's post on his Instagram Story, writing, "The sequel is afoot! Which loosely translates to 'It's on!'".
