BEGINNER'S GUIDE - ALL CONTROLS + TIPS (Escape from Tarkov)

Controls

• Hold Shift when zoomed in with Mouse Right Click to hold breath and steady aim
• Press B to switch between firing modes 🔥 (You will always start a raid in single fire mode)
  • The animation when switching to 🔥 🔥 🔥 fire is an ⬆️ flick
  • The animation when switching to 🔥 fire is an ⬇️ flick
• Press L to inspect your weapon 🔫 and look for your firing mode
  • If your fire selector is in an ➡️ position, you are in auto fire mode
  • If your fire selector is in an ⬇️ position, you are in single fire mode
• Press Tab to bring up your inventory. You can see your ammo count there
• Press Alt + T to make your character take out the mag and estimate the remaining ammo
• Press Shift + T to look into the chamber to see if there is a bullet
• To be able to reload your ammo with R you need to have your magazines in your tactical rig or pockets
• Quick reload: Press R R (double tap) to toss mag on the ground for a quicker reload. Do not forget to pick up your mag afterwards!
• Selective Reload: Press and hold R and use Mousewheel Up or Mousewheel Down to select the mag you want to reload
• You cannot reload from mags in your backpack or pouch
• Magazines are selected from ⬅️ to ➡️, skipping empty mags
• Press T to switch your 🔦 on and off
• Press Ctrl + T to switch your laser sight on and off
• Press Alt + Mouse Right Click to switch recticles in your red dot sights
• Press Ctrl + Mouse Right Click to switch between stacked sights/scopes
• You can drag and drop items from your tactical rig or pockets onto your quick access bar (keys 1 through 0), this also applies to grenades
• Press G to instantly throw a grenades
  • Grenades are chosen ⬅️ to ➡️ like magazines
  • The F1-Grenade is a shrapnel grenade, seek cover when you throw it!
• Select a grenade from your quick access bar (keys 1 through 0) to take it into hands to be able to time your throw
• Press O to see the remainig time of the raid and get a feel for if it is still worth to check on the early objectives
  • Factory is 60 minutes
  • Customs is 90 minutes
  • Forest is 120 minutes
• Press Shift to sprint, go to Settings > Controls and make sure that Hold to Sprint/hold breath is ✔️
• Press C to crouch
• Press X to go prone
• Press X when prone to return to your previous stance
• Press and hold C and Mousewheel Up or Mousewheel Down to move through your stance from standing to crouching to prone and vice versa
• Press Capslock to instantly go to minimum speed
• Press Capslock again to return to your previous speed
• Press Q to lean ⬅️
• Press E to lean ➡️
• Press Alt + A to do a slow ⬅️ lean
• Press Alt + D to do a slow ➡️ lean
  • When using slow leans, you stay in the leaned position you moved to. To reset to normal, press Q or E
• Press Alt + Q to do a backstep/left-sidestep ⬇️ ⬅️ lean
• Press Alt + E to do a backstep/right-sidestep ⬇️ ➡️ lean
• Press Y to mumble, if ai is around you, they will respond to you with a voice line

As of latest patch: Double tap Y to get the commands + gestures Alt + W = blind fire above you Alt + S = blind fire to your left

Ctrl + T - Switches between modes for AN/PEQ-15 Modes:

• Red Laser
• Green Laser
• Flashligh\Laser
• Flashlight Only

Mousewheel up and Mousewheel down adjusts your movement speed, in the same way you can adjust your hight by using c and Mousewheel. Which is good if your speed is set to low on both the caps lock options. (Which can happen if you open a door/container with capslock active.

Update on ctrl + T to adjust your lasersight, it doesn't turn your sight on. So if you have a setup with flashlights, and laser sights etc, you will first need to turn it on to see it work. (as it defaults to flashlight, this can give your position away at times).

Ctrl and Left mouse in inventory automatically moves something to the other side.

And while overing over an item Delete discards it quickly.

What is shortcut for check Missions during my gameplay. = press tab and near map there is objectives. they must add a shortcut for it. what a stupid game this one is.

You are technically correct (the best kind of correct), ALT+B is used to display the firing mode. However, i was not stating that L is used to check fire mode, but to inspect the weapon. As you inspect the weapon you can look for the position of the fire selector and this way visually check the state.

Thank you, but no thank you. This Quest guide for Escape from Tarkov is my "cheat sheet". That's how the pros and not whinies do it! That's the most efficient way of leveling up your character.
