FAIRFIELD COUNTY WARNS RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES OF PHISHING SCHEME IMPERSONATING LOCAL OFFICIALS Fairfield County officials are alerting residents, businesses, and contractors to an emerging phishing scheme in which criminals impersonate city and county officials to solicit fraudulent payments for planning and zoning permits. PRESS RELEASE MOODY’S RATINGS UPGRADES FAIRFIELD COUNTY BOND RATING TO “AA1” Today, Moody’s Investors Services notified the Fairfield County Commissioners of an upgrade to its bond ratings to “Aa1”, citing the healthy financial structure, excellent ability to meet its obligations, and a robust general fund to meet citizens’ needs. This is an upgrade from the previous rating of “Aa2”, which the County had maintained since 2022. PRESS RELEASE MOODY'S RATINGS RECORDER LISA MCKENZIE ALERTS HOMEOWNERS ON MV REALTY CONTRACT CANCELLATION PERIOD The Fairfield County Recorder, Lisa McKenzie is notifying residents of a limited-time opportunity announced by the Ohio Attorney General that allows certain Ohio homeowners to cancel long-term real estate contracts with MV Realty of Ohio, LLC. This applies to homeowners who signed Homeowner Benefit Agreements (HBAs) with MV Realty and whose properties may have a related agreement recorded in the Recorder’s office. Eligible homeowners have until April 29, 2026, to exercise the cancellation option announced by the Ohio Attorney General without repaying the upfront funds they received when the contract was signed.
