Florists are part of the industry called floriculture. Growers produce vast amounts of flowers for the wholesale market. That means they sell them to other businesses, such as florists, rather than directly to individual customers. The florist then sells those flowers to the public. Florists interact a lot with customers, so florists should be helpful and pleasant. The most-common way to become a florist is to find work at a flower shop and train on the job.
