Fog Minecraft 1.18 How To Turn Off Fog
Maybe your like
If you have been playing the 1.18 Caves and Cliffs Part 2 update, you may have noticed a change in what the game looks like. Namely, the fog effect is now a lot more pronounced and it will severely limit how far you can see in front of you. The reason why this was done is to allow even less powerful computers (and mobile devices) to render the huge open worlds that Minecraft is known for. This is similar to why older games, such as Morrowind, also had this effect in place. And, while some players have found this effect to be a welcome addition, since it is very atmospheric, others can’t stand it and are looking for a way to get rid of it. If you dislike it, then our Fog Minecraft 1.18 How to Turn Off Fog guide will help you to remove fog in Minecraft 1.18.

While developer Mojang may change this to how it worked before if enough people voice their negative opinions about it, for now, let’s see how to disable it. What you can do first is to go to the Aternos webpage. Next, go to the server that you are playing on. Select “Files”, then “server.properties”. What you want to do here is to find “view-distance” and increase its value. If done correctly, your render distance should return to how it was before, removing the fog effect.
Another method you can try out is to use the OptiFine mod. This mod has several options which can change the rendering distance in the game, so it is also something which you can use to get rid of the fog effect in Minecraft 1.18. If both of these methods fail, currently there’s nothing else you can try except to directly contact Minecraft support to see if they can assist you with this. Hopefully, Mojang will add an option that lets us set the draw distance in the game in a future update.

If the render distance in those two pics is the same, someone should be fired.
Also, I really think it’s sad that you have to download something like optifine just to tweak a single setting. We used to be able to change this sort of stuff with console commands and config settings.
