Daniel Suelo the Archetypal hero
The book The Hero with a Thousand Faces, by Joseph Campbell proposes that all myths are essentially hero-quest stories, each of which rings a unique change on a universal pattern; a pattern he calls the “monomyth.” According to Campbell, the hero’s journey consists of three main moves: departure, initiation, and return. Within each of these categories is a number of stages common to the plots of all hero-quest stories, and can be compared to Daniel Suelo's adventure throughout his life. According to the book The Hero with a Thousand Faces, the first move of the journey is departure which starts with the call to adventure. The call of adventure is how the journey starts and with Daniel Suelo it starts with him leaving the last of his money in a telephone booth and going for the adventure (accepting the call to adventure), so there is no direct indication of a call of adventure but leaving behind the money is probably the closest.…

Lion King Movie: Simba's Heroic Journey
After Simba’s father, the ruler of the kingdom is killed while trying to save Simba caught in a heard of wilder beasts; is where Simba’s departure begins, he is banished from his homeland by his evil uncle Scar. Scar tells Simba “to leave and never return.” (The Lion King), Scar then send his hyenas (who act as his personal army and assistants), to kill him. But Simba escapes and is found by Timon (a meerkat) and Pumba (a warthog), he goes on to grow up in a paradise-like jungle with them. Years later, Simba 's best friend from the pride lands Nala comes in search of help and happens to find Simba by chance. She asks him to return with her because of Scar 's oppressing reign, but he refuses his call to adventure. Scar has told everyone in the kingdom that Simba was killed in the same stampede his father was. Nala realizes that since samba is alive, that means he’s the king. His reaction “No I’m not the king, maybe I was gonna be but that was a long time ago.” (The Lion King) Simba wouldn 't tell her the reason for his refusal, but it was because he believed his father 's death was his fault; and he was scared to return there, he didn’t have any confidence in himself, that he could overtake Scar.…

Allegory In Beowulf
In the book the Fairie Queen, although the lion has no name in the story it is still part of Spensor’s allegory. A lion is the king of the jungle; it inherently signifies natural law. Which could be vehemently ferocious when it has to, but seemingly sympathetic to Christian reality. Rendering to Christian divinity, natural law crafts and creates part of God’s celestial law. Of human nature Christian is not an antagonist, it acts in harmony and unity with it. The lion instinctively assists and protects Una. Conversely, why is it no contest for the knight Sansloy? Without the law, act, rule, or decree of God, who maneuvers outside the circumference of heavenly law? The natural law symbolized and personified in this lion holds no power nor influence above Sansloy. Sansloy is capable of manipulating and destroying the lion because he isn’t subjected to the indefinite laws of nature. Nevertheless, the lion can trounce, conquer and overwhelm the robber, who infringes and disobeys the natural law by constantly stealing, committing larceny, and indulging…

Hamlet in Comparison to the Lion King
The characters in the Lion King closely parallel Hamlet. Simba, the main character in the Lion King, embodies Hamlet. They are both the son of the King and rightful heir to the throne. The King of the Pridelands, Mufasa, can be compared to Hamlet Senior, who is killed by the uncle figure. Both Scar and Claudius have an unpleasant image of the uncle. They are presented as cold and evil. Laertes, the henchman and right-hand man of Claudius, becomes, in the movie, the Hyenas. The Hyenas collectively act as hero-worshippers to Scar, loyal subjects, and fellow doers-in-evil. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are the comic reliefs in Hamlet, and in the Lion King, this role is fulfilled by Timon and Pumbaa.…
