What makes Simba a hero?Like all heroes, Simba grows into his hero status. He is a young heir to the crown, but he wants to be just a regular lion in the beginning. There are many words to describe a hero and Simba gives us a peek at some of those qualities early on. He is charismatic and adventurous. He and Nala become good friends and eventually get married in part because of Simba's charisma. He convinces Nala to go to the "elephant graveyard". He cares for other animals around him. He befriends Timon and Pumbaa and they help him survive when he runs away. Probably the most evident characteristic of Simba being a hero is his ability to make up for his mistake of running away from his problems. He returns to the kingdom after he finds out that Scar has ruined it. Simba's guilt over his dad's death makes him a stronger and more courageous lion. He is able to face his fears, which is the ultimate characteristic of a hero. Picture
