I love having my favorite morning routine essentials stocked in the house. Makes for easier mornings! I always have the ingredients for this tasty drink around for a quick breakfast or snack on the go.
The French Vanilla Iced Coffee is chilled and creamy with a light flavor of French vanilla. Sometimes, I sprinkle a little cinnamon on top and it’s just divine.
French Vanilla Iced Coffee Recipe
iced coffee
1 cup brewed coffee, cooled (best to do this the night before and store in the fridge)
⅛ cup, vanilla syrup
2 cups ice
Your choice of creamer, to taste
homemade vanilla syrup
¾ cup water
¾ cup brown sugar
1 Tablespoon REAL vanilla extract (not imitation)*
**For more intense flavor, substitute vanilla bean seeds (scrap seeds out of pod) for extract
instructions
For vanilla syrup:
Heat water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium high heat.
Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer.
Allow to simmer for 5-8 minutes, then remove from heat.Stir in vanilla extract and allow to cool.
For Iced Coffee:
Add ice to insulated cup or your favorite iced coffee glass.
Pour coffee over top, add vanilla syrup and cream to taste.
Now you’re good to go!
