Fright Fest is Six Flags over Texas’ annual Halloween event. Each Fall the park turns into a spooky version of itself, complete with haunted houses, scare zones, themed shows, specialty foods, and more.

Fright Fest 2025 features an all-new haunted attraction from The Strangers: Chapters 1 & 2, as well as the return of other IP-based haunted houses from The Conjuring Universe, SAW, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. A new attraction—Eversmile Industries—gives a creepy new experience this year. Several new scare zones also make their debut, as well as Tricks and Treats, replacing last year’s Kids Boo Fest as the family-friendly daytime Halloween event.

Thrills by Day, Chills by Night

During the day, the park offers a family-friendly experience with Tricks and Treats, where kids can participate in a number of activities. The returning Oktoberfest Food Festival also coincides with much of Fright Fest, serving up German-inspired cuisine and fun. And of course the park’s world-class collection rides are available to enjoy.

As night falls, however, The Awakening ritual releases hordes of zombies, ghouls, and other maniacal beasts into the park with one mission: terrifying guests. Specially-designated Scare Zones have the highest concentration of horror. The park recommends taking kids 12 and under home before 6pm due to Fright Fest’s intense nature. Consider yourself warned.



Haunted Houses Additional Fee Applies

Six Flags over Texas has a brand new set of horrific attractions for Fright Fest 2025. The park has teamed up with several horror film franchises to bring terrifying experiences from the big screen to real life, as well as original haunts. Entry to haunted houses requires a Haunted Attractions Pass.

The Strangers: No Escape

Inspired by the films The Strangers: Chapters 1 & 2, guests will soon realize they are the target of masked figures lurking in the darkness as they are mercilessly hunted.

The Conjuring Universe

Strap in for a tour of the Warrens’ most hair-raising and gruesome cases including those that inspired The Conjuring, Annabelle and The Nun. In each realm, encounters with cursed artifacts make you the target of the conjuring.

SAW

Experience the SAW franchise’s legacy of terror by plunging into the depths of Jigsaw’s twisted mind. Guests will endure torturous trials and come face to face with some of John Kramer’s most diabolical contraptions, hopefully before time runs out.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Based on the 2022 adaptation, guests are “cast” as visitors to Harlow on the heels of the influencers set on revitalizing the town – but their arrival leads to a stunning and deadly secret being revealed.

Terror at the Polynesian Palm

Legend has it the once-grand Polynesian Palm Hotel is home to sacred flowers capable of resurrecting the dead. Visitors to the tropical island paradise are warned to stay away from The Palm or they may never leave!

EverSmile Industries

Guests will discover the atomic age of tomorrow in this cheery factory tour and discover how easy happiness can be when it’s built from the inside out.

Haunted Attractions Pass

What is a Haunted Attractions Pass?

A Haunted Attractions Pass is required to go through the haunted house attractions during Fright Fest. An Express Haunted Attractions Pass lets you skip the bulk of the line for faster entry.

How Much do Haunted Attraction Passes Cost?

Just like admission prices, Haunted Attraction Pass prices vary based on projected crowd levels, so check out the official site to preview prices and purchase your pass for a specific day.

For Fright Fest 2025, Haunted Attraction Passes cost between $30-50 and Express Haunted Maze Passes cost between $75-89 (subject to change).

The park also offers special Fright Fest bundles that include park admission and haunted attraction passes for guests without season passes or memberships.



Scare Zones

Each evening after The Awakening, hordes of zombies, beasts, and other unidentifiable creatures come out to play in the various Scare Zones scattered throughout the park. These areas are populated with scare actors and are included with park admission (unlike haunted houses). The park recommends that guests 12 and under avoid these areas in the evening.

Guests needing a bravery boost can buy a No BOO Necklace to wear which will discourage (but not guarantee) monsters scaring them in Scare Zones.

Trick 'r Treat (NEW!)

The infamous School Bus Massacre takes place at the abandoned rock quarry near Caddo Lake. Watch out for the vengeful souls who died here!

Outlaw's Revenge

Maudine Hollow’s undead outlaws are out for blood and vengeance and are roaming the Texas area.

Plague (NEW!)

A deadly fog rolls in as disturbing, masked plague doctors assess your condition and determine your fate.

The Last Harvest (NEW!)

Make your way through the fields where scarecrows and harvesters hunt for souls to reap.

Foresaken Fairgrounds (NEW!)

A cursed carnival is in town, with terrifying clowns roaming the grounds and haunted rides luring in the unwary.

Several spooky shows and entertainment offerings, new and returning, are available at this year’s Fright Fest.

The Awakening

Each night, the zombies, ghouls, and creatures are unleashed into the park through this terrorizing ritual.

Toxicity is described as a “feral and electrifying circus spectacle where gravity is defied and survival is an art.”

Families not yet ready for the chills of Fright Fest can still celebrate Halloween at Tricks and Treats. Fall festivities at this kid-friendly event include a trick-or-treat trail, costume contests, dance parties, a hay maze, arts and crafts, and more.

Tricks and Treats performances listed above are held on the “Candy Corn County Fair Main Stage” located directly outside the Six Flags Universe store. Performances and activities may vary.

Fright Fest Rules & Tips

Six Flags over Texas strictly enforces these rules during Fright Fest for everyone’s safety and enjoyment. Violating these or other park rules can result in ejection from the park.

Guests aged 11 and older cannot wear costumes (attire or masks) or full face paint or safety reasons. No masks of any kind are allowed on rides at any time.
Trench coats, flak jackets, and similar military-style apparel is not allowed into the park.
A chaperone policy will be in effect, requiring a 21+ year-old chaperone to remain in the park for guests 17 and younger.
Be prepared for heavy crowds, both getting to the park and once inside the park. Fright Fest is consistently one of the busiest times of the year to visit Six Flags over Texas. Enter the park well before sundown to avoid long entry lines
Guests cannot leave the park and re-enter the same day after 6pm (no exceptions!)
No cameras, photography, or recording of any kind is allowed inside haunted attractions.
Weapons or props of any kind are not allowed into the park.
No line jumping or holding places in lines (as usual).
Never touch scare actors in haunted houses or scare zones — this is grounds for park ejection, and possibly even criminal prosecution.

Are you permitted to wear goth makeup into the park for fright fest / alternative makeup? Nothing heavy or extreme I get, but I thought goth makeup or clown-esque makeup would be cute for the occasion.

I’m trying to buy my tickets for fright fest but it is very confusing. So if I purchase a haunted house pass without the day pass, I will not be allowed in the park without the day pass? Also, does the haunted house pass include all the haunted house attractions or just 1 of them? Thank you in advance

  You always need some form of admission to enter the park, whether it’s a daily ticket, season pass, or membership. Then, if you want to go through the haunted houses, you need a “haunted maze pass” which includes going through each haunted house once. There are also some Fright Fest bundles that include both an admission ticket and a haunted maze pass.

    You can buy them online by going to the Six Flags website, hovering over Buy Now and clicking Fright Fest, and there you will see options for buying Haunted Maze Passes. Alternatively you can buy them once inside the park at various tents setup to sell the passes.

  Fright Fest is a park-wide event. Admission ticket gets you into the park. There are Scare Zones around the park that you can walk through at no cost, as well as decorations throughout. If you want to go through the haunted houses, then you also need a Haunted Maze Pass in addition to admission.

      Fright Fest tickets are just regular admission tickets that you purchase from sixflags.com. While purchasing admission, you can also purchase a haunted maze pass which allows you to go through the haunted houses.

  The park does not allow guests over 12 to wear costumes, presumably so visitors don’t don’t mistake guests for cast members.

  For alternatives, t-shirts, hats, and hoodie jackets should be the best substitution whether character-related or not, no matter what color you’re in, no matter whether if it’s related to the Six Flags Company or from a different theme park company, they are equally subject to regular clothing. People shouldn’t have to change their colors. It’s like the same thing for skin colors.

I went to six flags on october 21 and 22 and saw a show around the Gotham Stage I don’t know what the show was called. It was extreamly loud and had goblins and scary monsters everywhere but the main person looked like a scary conductor or engineer he had very little makeup and was funny and kind. I got a picture with him both days I was there and he said he had remembered us when we showed him from the 21. I think they played limbo but I couldn’t see, I just loved the heavy loud music that they played because I love dubstep music and thats exactly what they played. I am 2 years away from being old enough to work for fright fest and hope I do because I love scary stuff. I know this sounds like an introduction but Im just wanting more experience. Thank You : )
