Ganondorf was revealed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate along with most of the roster on June 12, 2018 during the "Everyone Is Here" trailer. The "King of Darkness" has been labeled as Fighter #23.
Ganondorf first appeared in the Super Smash Bros. series with Super Smash Bros. Melee. As the primary antagonist of the Legend of Zelda series, Ganondorf made his debut appearance in the Legend of Zelda, released February 21, 1986 in Japan and August 22, 1987 in North America.
Rather than appearing as he did in Twilight Princess for Brawl and Smash 4, Ganondorf has returned as he did in Ocarina of Time and Super Smash Bros. Melee. It's said that only one Gerudo male is born every 100 years in Legend of Zelda lore. By Gerudo law, that male is destined to become the king of the Gerudo. As of this time, Ganondorf is the only male Gerudo that's ever appeared in the series.
Ganondorf perfectly encapsulates what it means to be a super heavy weight in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Though he's very slow, he is the fifth heaviest fighter overall and has an obscene amount of killing power.
While Ganondorf's grab range is somewhat lacking, his side special acts as a command grab which automatically sets up for a tech chase scenario upon hit. For the first time in the Smash series, Ganondorf actually utilizes a sword during smash attacks.
Despite Ganondorf's extreme amount of attack power and killing power, he tends to have difficulties approach or recovering due to his slow options. Certain attacks like the Warlock Punch and the Volcano Kick (up tilt) are, while flashy, very difficult to hit with due to having incredible amounts of start up time.
Unfortunately for Ganondorf fans, it's pretty much become tradition for Ganondorf to be a bottom tier in the Super Smash Bros. series. Most players generally recognize Ganondorf as being the absolute worst fighter overall in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Even those who are idealistic about Ganondorf still typically put him in the bottom tier category.

His Smash attacks have been given greater range and power since Smash4, and his Forward Smash can start killing as early as 30% off an edge. The damage input for his Warlock Punch has nearly doubled (from 31% to sometimes over 60%). All of his moves are stronger, and he moves faster than previous iterations, although he is still the second slowest character in the game. But his brutish tank-weight and insane power give him massive power, and far outweigh(in my opinion) his disadvantages.
Kill percentage for Ganondorf; Any precent above 10% (not a joke).

Share bubzerz27 posted January 2, 2019Ganon's up air seems to have more reach, and is even more of a Flash Kick. His Wizard's Foot reverted back to its Melee/Brawl version, where the hitbox starts closer to its starting point when grounded, and d-throw to Wizard's Foot is also still true at zero.
Of course, with the global landing lag reduction, Ganon's short hop N-air is frightening, and Ike/Cloud-esque smashes give him much easier kills, but ranged fighters still wall him out easily. Mid-tier, at worst, and this is coming from a Ganon main since PM.
Share miggle2191 posted December 30, 2018Side special can combo into down tilt, but it can also be teched by the opponent (Pressing the dodge button as soon as you touch the stage).
As Ganondorf, if the opponent continues to tech, notice what direction they are teching and use this too your advantage. You can take advantage of this by turning around and following up with a forward tilt, following their tech with a down special, or going into a smash attack (Though smash attacks are much slower and can be avoided).
Share Dense posted December 12, 2018Flame choke (side special) now reliably connects to down tilt and dash attack, making it a viable starter.
Share WumboTheSecond posted December 9, 2018The neutral special or the "Warlock Punch" is particularly useful because once in enemy is at about 70%, if you are decently close to an edge you have a really good chance of an instant KO
