Genshin Impact: How To Defeat The Hydro Hypostasis - TheGamer

Genshin Impact has tons of fantastic creatures roaming around Inazuma, and one of them is a new Hypostasis. Version 2.1 introduced the Hydro Hypostasis to the game. Like all of the other bosses in Teyvat, this one has a few unique quirks that can make it frustrating to fight if you go into the battle unprepared.

The Hydro Hypostasis also tends to be a hard hitter, so knowing how to take it down quickly can save you from burning through your food. The guide below goes over everything you need to know about beating the Hydro Hypostasis.

Where Is The Hydro Hypostasis?

Hydro Hypostasis shifting forms

The Hydro Hypostasis isn't hard to get to, unlike the Thunder Manifestation, but the first time you set out to find it, you will need to do a bit of work.

  • First, you will want to visit Watatsumi Island and get to the statue of the seven to unlock the map. Afterward, you will be able to see the symbol for the Hydro Hypostasis boss fight.
  • Next, unlock the nearby waypoint to have quick access to the area; you will notice that the boss icon is located in the ocean.
  • Go to the land behind the icon; there will be a small opening for a cave with a waterfall going down it; jump in to find the Hydro Hypostasis.

The battle won't start until you approach the Hypostasis, so be sure to consume food to give your party buffs; you will also want to use a Desiccant Potion to reduce hydro damage.

How To Beat The Hydro Hypostasis

Hydro Hypostasis Droplet

The Hydro Hypostasis is weak to cryo, electro, and pyro, making it amazingly easy to cause reactions. To ensure the boss wasn't a complete pushover, though, Mihoyo ensured that it could both heal itself in the middle of the battle and was a hard hitter. Here is what you need to look out for when fighting the Hydro Hypostasis:

  • It creates a wave that quickly encompasses the middle of the room and then explodes, causing massive hydro damage.
  • The Hypostasis can create a circle where its core is exposed, similar to the Electro Hypostasis. Only this time, it can be difficult to damage the Hypostasis as the boss will summon dolphins that attack the centermost part of the arena.
  • The Hydro Hypostasis can transform into a dolphin and dive into the ground for a surprise attack. It can also summon deadly rainstorms onto the field.
  • It can summon droplets on the field that will target your character and then explode, dealing hydro damage. In addition, other summoned droplets will send healing dots to the boss that can be intercepted, and the dots can be destroyed.

Most of the attacks are easy to identify and dodge. Your true worry should be intercepting the healing dots so that the battle doesn't drag on. In addition, when the boss reaches low health, it will summon three dots onto the field and try to drag them in. Simply defeat the dots before they make it to the center of the ring.
