Get Help From DEEBOT N79 Manual For Your Cleaner Setup
Maybe your like
If you are looking for a robotic vacuum cleaner that fits your tight budget perfectly, then consider ECOVACS DEEBOT N79.
This product is one of the least expensive that you can buy without any worry.
Featuring the built-in Wifi, you can control your robot from anywhere using the ECOVACS app or included remote control. However, it lacks the operation via voice control through Amazon Alexa or Google Home.
From my experience, I personally think DEEBOT N79 is great for:
- Working on hardwood and tile floors
- Cleaning thinner carpets
- Homes raising pets
- Saving money
However, you shouldn’t get it if you have deep-pile/shag carpet or live in large open areas. You can download full DEEBOT N79 manual here for complete instructions!

Overview of DEEBOT N79 Troubleshooting
1. How do I reset my DEEBOT?
The reset process is quite simpler than you may think.
In order to reset your DEEBOT, all you need is to press and hold the START/PAUSE button for 3 seconds. Then set the current time. Once the scheduling has set successfully, make sure you hear the *beep* sound 3 times from the device and the indicator light will turn blow after that.
If the scheduling is cancelled, the device will still beep 3 times but the indicator light will go green. Of course you can fix this issue by removing and replacing the DEEBOT’s motherboard.
Here is an introduction to the N79 model:
2. Why my DEEBOT keeps moving in circles?
You find your DEEBOT N79 unit goes around in circles?
Let’s turn it over and check the bottom of the robovac to see whether its anti-drop sensors are covered with dirt or not. If it does have dust, you’re advised to rub the sensors carefully using the multi-function cleaning tool. This item is included in the N79 troubleshooting package!
In case this issue still happens, then probably the robot’s driving wheels are tangled with external matters or the robot cannot spot objects as it should be. Don’t worry as we have solutions to help the issues resolved completely.
- Make use of the multi-function cleaning tool to wipe anti-drop sensors.
- The multi-function cleaning tool can also deface anti-drop sensors; in addition, it’s necessary to remove any debris from driving wheels.

3. Why my DEEBOT goes backwards only?
The possible cause for the DEEBOT going backwards in a straight line might be because its front bumper gets stuck in or is unable to return to the correct position. This is what we call the “bumper exception” error!
Your robot vacuum cleaner may think the walls are closing in on it; that explains why it keeps moving backwards.
In order to help your robovac move back and forth in the correct position again, all you need is to gently pull out the front bumper a quarter inch. If you’ve tried out this tip but the machine still doesn’t work, then quickly contact ECOVACS Customer Support.

4. Why won’t my DEEBOT find the charging dock?
For DEEBOT N79 series, the cleaning cycle will only stop when the battery runs low. Your robovac then will slow down the operation automatically and make it way to the charging dock for recharging the energy.
The process might take a while as the robotic vacuum sometimes moves in the wrong direction; however, it will end up in the right spot anyway.
If any consumer wants the DEEBOT unit to return to its Home Base earlier, the setting can be done using the remote or app:
- Press the PLAY or PAUSE button
- Press the CHARGE or HOME button then
Once you hit those buttons on the remote, your robotic vacuum cleaner will instantly stop the cleaning process and head back to the charging. Try to place the dock somewhere in a clutter free area, with at least 2 feet of clear space on both sides.
Though not many people like this idea, it’s precise to arrange the charging station to the center of the living room. According to ECOVACS makers, putting the charger in the middle of your lounge helps to find out ideal locations for its charging process.
The charging station sometimes cannot send out fast and strong power radio signal to your DEEBOT. Hence, just a slight location move of the charger will make it easier for the robot to find its way home.
5. Why is the auto button red?
Some owning N79 robotic vacuums complain that they’re having the red auto light error with the unit.
After several months offering such great service, the robovac suddenly stops working out of the blue as soon as starting a cleaning cycle. It moves around for less than 5 minutes and then gives off the problem.
How to fix this?
Initially, we’ve done research showing the cause might lie in the battery; therefore, we focused on arranging charging dock positions and cleaning the charge contacts. But it seemed like we were wrong as the same issue still transpires. A couple of days later, we thought about the large amount of dirt accumulation in the beater brush.
Simple remove 4 tiny Phillips screws and a flathead screw driver to detach the front wheels. Clean the brush thoroughly and we were kind of surprised because the N79 again performs as a brand-new machine.
In case your robot flashes red and emits alarm beeps:
| Alarm sound | Problems | Solutions |
| One beep | The robovac is stuck or suspended | Remove the obstacles (if any), put the N79 on an even surface, and reset the machine |
| Two beeps | Anti-collision bumper malfunction | Check the anti-collision bumper to see if there’s any debris and quickly do the removal |
| Three beeps | Anti-drop sensors malfunction | Clean anti-drop sensors as mentioned in other questions above |
| Four beeps | Low battery | Place your robot on the charging dock manually to recharge |

6. How do I connect to DEEBOT wifi?
Just got a new DEEBOT for your home?
Don’t know what to do as your DEEBOT N79 wifi won’t connect?
A very common problem that most DEEBOT consumers often encounter is – they find it frustrated to connect to the built-in wifi.
Let me remind you that your house is running on a 5GHz network. Oftentimes you have a 2.4GHz band and a 5GHz band to choose from. Therefore, it’s significant to connect to the 2.4GHz bandwidth router if you want to link your robotic cleaner to the wifi.
Create the connection between the app and the robot is actually quite easy.
- Initially, ensure your home wifi is set down to the 2.4GHz band.
- All ECOVACS products primarily work on 2.4GHz bands and most routers are also dual-banded, so it’s not a big matter as the system will automatically switch this; nevertheless, there are some routers require you to do the setup manually.
- Follow the steps of how to do this either from the ECOVACS DEEBOT N79 manual or find it online.
- Immediately turn on your robot once you take it out of the box.
- Start the app on your smartphone and approach your DEEBOT robot as close as possible.
- Press and hold the AUTO button for 3 seconds until you hear a sound from it.
- Once you do that, let’s see if the wifi light illuminates on the device or not. If yes, then just access to the app.
- Read the instructions on the app to find out the steps of how to connect to your DEEBOT. The connection time takes less than one minute.

Please keep in mind that you have to stay close to the robot as this helps fasten the connection. Check out this video to know how to connect your DEEBOT to the ECOVACS app quickly:
7. How long does the DEEBOT battery last?
Currently, most DEEBOT models use the 3000mAh batter for operation. Its maximum running time is estimated 90 minutes for a complete cleaning cycle. Nevertheless, when the setting is max in every feature and function, then your robot will run out of energy after 45 minutes.
Summary
When purchasing DEEBOT N79, you also receive the manual in which has a handy maintenance guide.
After each time cleaning your device, you’re advised to empty the dustbin and then wash it under running water. Additionally, you should take out the sponge and all high-efficiency filters in order to remove stuck debris.
Rinse only the sponge filter, not the high-efficiency filter.
For the side brushes, you need to clean them once every two weeks and replace them every 3 to 6 months according to the manual. But, the maintenance depends mainly on how often you use the vacuum as well as on usage.
Don’t forget to change the filters every 4 to 6 months.
Also, once a week, the device’s sensors need to be clean with a soft dry cloth.
This ECOVACS DEEBOT robot vacuum can be used without wifi. Therefore, you can choose to skip the setup step with wifi connection. This means you are unable to utilize the app, obviously.
Refer to the manual or call customer support whenever you get stuck with ECOVACS DEEBOT N79.
