RTENOTITLE
Evolved from: Oddish (at level 21) Evolves into: Vileplume (with Leaf Stone)
Locations: Evolve an Oddish into Gloom at level 21 or catch it yourself on Routes 12-15 in Pokemon Red and Yellow. You won't find it in Blue, though.
This Pokémon naturally learns the following techniques:
LV 01 - AbsorbLV 15 - Poison PowderLV 17 - Stun Spore LV 19 - Sleep PowderLV 28 - Acid LV 38 - Petal DanceLV 52 - Solar Beam
Tips: Gloom is basically a meaner, slightly more powerful version of Oddish with a bit of drool on its face. But the improvements aren't major enough to recommend evolving Oddish early on in the Game Boy games. You should cancel its evolution until it's learned Solar Beam at level 46 -- Gloom won't learn it until level 52. Once it's learned Solar Beam, you might as well use a Leaf Stone right away to directly evolve it into a Vileplume. Gloom's Poison and Grass techniques can be very effective against Water, Ground, Rock, Grass, and Bug opponents. For example, Solar Beam and Mega Drain can help take out even the toughest Ground opponents, and the status-changing attacks like Sleep Powder, Stun Spore and Toxic can instantly turn a battle around to your favor.

What do you do when going up against Gloom? Fire, Ice, Flying, Bug and Psychic attacks will all work well -- but you should generally stay away from using a Bug Pokemon against Poison types.

This Pokémon can learn the following HMs and TMs:
TM 03 - Swords DanceTM 06 - ToxicTM 09 - Take DownTM 10 - Double EdgeTM 20 - Rage TM 21 - Mega DrainTM 22 - Solar BeamTM 31 - MimicTM 32 - Double TeamTM 33 - Reflect TM 34 - BideTM 44 - RestTM 50 - SubstituteHM 01 - Cut

Origin: The flower on Gloom's head gives it away. The name is a mixture of the words "bloom" (as in blossom) and gloomy, because of its terrible stink and bad mood.
